Been going there since 1993 with my best friend, & to this day, I can’t get THIS sushi ANYWHERE else. Love ALL the guys who run this place, I’ve known them forever, it seems. Yes, I go to other places, but when I want real sushi, and a great well experienced sushi bar, I come home…I come to Yu-Shang. Oh, they have excellent Chinese food too!
I always kick things off with their fresh cabbage salad with added crab special, an Unagi Tamaki hand roll….each bite is perfection. And when I want to indulge, I go for one of their fabulous roll. My go-to is the Darkside of the Moon Roll with fresh fish on top. It’s consistently incredible and keeps me coming back for more.
Between the welcoming atmosphere, impeccable service, and unforgettable flavors, Yu Shang has earned its spot as my favorite sushi destination.
The sushi is fresh and delicious, so it depends on the day to have different types of seafood. But overall, the food is delicious. The restaurant’s seasoning is just right.
The sushi waiters talk a bit rudely, but the waiters are friendly, and the owner is very cute, so that’s a big plus.
Will come back.
Downside- lack of transparency with the bill, they give you a hand written check with no much telling apart what is what and what the prices are, (asked for one where the it will be itemized) guy brought back a number? That’s a NO especially if you’re in a group. Secondly place is in need of a renovation.
I’ll still go two to three times a month
We all got the lunch specials, probably the best priced food ANYWHERE, HUGE portions, I think due to serving all of the construction/service crew who frequent this establishment. The Hot & Sour Soup that came with the meal was piping hot, fresh, delicious and very authentic (daughter added 1 sugar packet to her soup and declared it perfect).
*Their Mongolian Beef was delicious, fresh ingredients, hot, slightly sweet, crunchy vegetables!
*String Bean Beef (in Black Bean Sauce) was too salty & oily (extra oil maybe due to us requesting it be made Spicy(?)) but still tasty.
*We wouldn’t order the Szhechuan Beef again though as the beef is dusted in cornstarch, deep fried, then sauteed w.vegetables in red sauce. Tasted slightly bitter, no hint of sweetness (which daughter prefers), and was quite heavy.
Service by the young lady in glasses was very good!
We would revisit this restaurant again, though next time will request less salt & oil.
The chicken and shrimp were undercooked.
I actually had to take them home and fry them again just to make them edible and safe to consume.
The behavior of one of the attendants was completely inappropriate.
Instead of focusing on service, she was clearly flirting with a guy at the other end of the counter.
Just my own order were $55 for a raw meat never going back there again.
