Enjoyed our visit to Yu Noodles in Herndon. We couldn’t decide on which soup dumpling to get so we ordered the rainbow to try each one. Our favorite was the green one (shrimp & pork). I ordered the chicken cooked in scallion oil with sesame oil – very light and delicious. Served with a side of cold shredded carrots, edamame, and squash. It had a very light scallion flavor and it was very refreshing and not too heavy. I thought it would be like a steamed chicken with ginger/scallion sauce I get at dim sum, but it’s not, it’s MUCH lighter and not as strong. We enjoyed our meal and wish we lived closer. I hope we will be back again!

I used to come here pretty often, but as of our last visit, the quality has significantly tanked and it’s pretty evident that they’ve started cutting corners. For example, the Panfried Pork Bun used to be my favorite item here but they’ve changed the recipe significantly. The pork filling used to be a lot larger and juicier…but now when you break open the bun, the filling is so small that half of the bun doesn’t even have any meat. 80% of the bun is just dough and it’s not fried well and quite greasy.

Everything overall was way too greasy, including the crueller and the dry noodles were swimming in oil. I did like the texture of the noodles, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by the oiliness of the broth it was sitting in. It’s really sad to see this place fall short since it opened a couple years ago. I’m hoping that they can improve their quality of food as it’s really gone downhill since opening.

Got the pork soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, and the chive and pork pan fried dumplings. All of it was delicious and I’ll definitely be back. Great prices too.

It was hopping when we got here on a Tuesday evening. We ordered their top dishes – soup dumplings, beef noodle soup, red hot dumplings and the dry fried noodles. They were all tasted good. The best of all, it did not break the bank.

The servers were busy but they were responsive to all my requests. I was happy with their services.

I would recommend this place if you want to have good Taiwanese style cuisine.

I had an excellent dining experience at Yu Noodles! The food was prepared perfectly. My pork chop noodle soup was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this location. They are extremely clean, courteous and everything is prepared to perfection. Don’t miss a chance to have a wonderful bowl of noodles. Well done Yu Noodles!!!

When folks talk about Chinese restaurants, they are often talking about Chinese-American restaurants; food that’s been Americanized and that is hardly representative of that found across the Pacific.

This is not Chinese-American. This is genuine Chinese food.

The noodle soups and dim sum are excellent – generous portions, savory, perhaps a bit spicier than expected, in a good way. The place itself is modern and staffed by friendly folks that help to answer questions about the dishes. I can highly recommend the intestine soup.

Such a cute little place, staff is great, attentive and so nice! I have been searching for soup dumplings near me for a while and FINALLY, there is a place to cater to my addiction of soup dumplings! They are soooo yummy, the beef ones are my favorite! Get them all, you cannot go wrong! We also tried the bao buns, they were pretty good too. If you do not like seafood/fishy tastes then we found out the hard way to not get the wonton soup, has seaweed and gives a bit of a fisshy taste. I cannot wait to go again and indulge on soup dumpys lol. I hope this place stays around for a looong time!

Having come here several times now, I think this place is definitely good, although some of the dishes are hit or miss. I love that the scallion pancake is fried extremely crispy and the special dry noodle is absolutely delicious. The soup dumplings are fairly good, but I haven’t been super impressed with a soup noodle yet, and I have tried four of the soup noodles. They are decent, but nothing that stands out to me like the dry noodles have. Staff is friendly and the environment is very cute.

Went on a Wednesday night for the first time and ordered some noodles and soup dumplings. I was sat by the waitress and left there for a bit until the waiter came by and took my order. While being sat, I wasn’t asked what I wanted to drink like the other customers were and was just brought water. When my food came, the waitress asked “do you want to keep the menu or not” in a somewhat rude tone. After my food was brought, I sat there and ate and at no point did she come and check on me like she did with the other tables. Throughout my entire time being there, she didn’t smile at me like she did with the others. On the other hand, the waiter was nice and attentive. He helped me with getting things I needed and was polite throughout. I’m not pissed or anything, just simply wanted to share my experience. Without all the comparisons I wouldn’t have known the differences, but seeing the difference in treatment made me felt that I wanted to say something. Everything was subtle so it wasn’t too noticeable, but I could feel the little details that were and weren’t there. All this could just be a coincidence that she happened to accidentally neglect me, but what happened, happened.
