My brother recommended this restaurant, and I can see why this place is a hidden gem right here in Long Island. Though this place is small and its menu is simple, everything about it all is authentic and tasteful from its atmosphere to its food. For appetizers, we ordered Youta Dumpling, Shishamo Tempura, and Shishito Truffle Salt. The Dumplings is full of flavor. The Shishamo is new to me, but surprisingly taste similar to sardines and very soft. The Shishito tastes good, but wished that it was a bit more roasted. We then ordered the Katsu Curry, Shrimp Katsu Curry, and Shouu Truffle Ramen. The curries are to the point! They have a bit of a kick, but they definitely hit the spot! The crispness and the curry blends well with the rice. The Ramen is great, filled with the mushroom broth and it’s flavor. For dessert, shared the Mango Parfait, which is sweet and tasty with the crisps and waffle! We definitely recommend coming here, but definitely come in early or make a reservation.

I was really excited to eat here since it brags about how it is one of the top ramen restaurants in LI as well as “Top 2 in the World” according to a poster in front of their entry door. A party of two with water, 2 ramen and a very pricy appetizer was around $60ish with a 20+% tip. Let me start with the appetizer. We got the Carpaccio with some wasabi soy glaze. Six average bite sized slices for $16. Definitely could’ve gotten sushi or more for $16 but it was my loss. The ramen. How disappointing. Their “18 hour cooked to perfection broth” was quite upsettingly comparable to the $1.25 tonkotsu instant ramen from the dollar tree, (not even kidding try the tonkotsu instant ramen and make chashu yourself). I had the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen and the Youta Ramen, (the main bowl to get from here). $18-$20 each depending on what you add on to it. The bowl straight from the menu for both ramens only come with four things plus garlic paste for the Youta version, bamboo, chashu, scallions, and egg, (spicy tonkotsu came with spicy paste that you have to mix in). Overall, just very disappointing as a ramen place the boasts about being one of the best in LI/America. If you do plan on visiting this place, they do not take reservations so try to get in early on their wait list in house and it is not made for more than 20 people sitting in the restaurant so be prepared to share a table with someone else if they are busy.

Wow amazing food and service!! I got the Niku ramen I definitely recommend it, one of the best meals I’ve had. My partner had the tonkatsu ramen, he said in his opinion if you’re looking for crunch inside, add the chicken appetizer to the ramen and it’s perfect. The only slight problem was it’s very tiny, and the place fills up QUICK! But I see how this place was nominated #2 nationwide for ramen, great spot.

Definitely a trendy spot — about 80% full within 15 minutes. Just like authentic ramen shops in Japan, the seating is tight, but that’s part of the vibe.
The tori karaage — oh my goodness — absolutely delicious and generously portioned. The tempura was also excellent, with a light, thin batter that wasn’t greasy. These two dishes easily rank in the top three of all the places I’ve ever tried.
If I had to nitpick, the taro was slightly undercooked.
Living up to its “Top 3 Ramen of 2024” reputation, it did not disappoint. The broth was rich and flavorful, the chashu melted in your mouth, and best of all, it didn’t leave you desperately chugging water afterward like some overly salty ramen does.

Youta Ramen on Old Country Road is an absolute gem — easily one of the best Japanese comfort-food spots I’ve tried in New York. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and full of flavor.
We started with the sashimi dishes, and they were outstanding.
• Hamachi in ponzu was incredibly fresh, buttery, and perfectly balanced with citrus and herbs.
• The salmon carpaccio with ikura was another highlight — rich, silky slices with just the right amount of sauce and texture.
The ramen is where Youta truly shines. The broth was rich and comforting, the chili paste added a perfect kick, and the chashu melted in your mouth. The seasoned egg was cooked perfectly with that golden, jammy center.
We also tried the fried smelt, which came out hot, crispy, and lightly seasoned — perfect with a squeeze of lemon. The pork bowl was another winner: tender, flavorful slices over a bed of fresh green onions, topped with two perfectly cooked eggs.
Overall, the quality, flavor, and presentation were top notch. Whether you’re craving ramen, fresh sashimi, or great small plates, Youta Ramen is absolutely worth the visit. I’ll definitely be back!

I ordered the Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen. The initial aroma and the presentation of the pork weren’t the most appealing, but the flavor quickly made up for it. The broth had deep, bold notes that felt rich and comforting. The pork was thinly sliced and full of flavor, and the noodles were perfectly firm. The spice level was just right for me without having to mix in the entire spice ball.
I also really enjoyed the Matcha Parfait. It had a nice variety of textures, and the homemade cream cheese was especially light and delicious. Adding a bit more crunch to balance everything out would’ve made it even better.
I really enjoyed both the food and the experience. I would definitely recommend Youta!

I went to this place for lunch and to scout it out. It was my first time coming here, and the first thing that happened when entering the establishment is one of the staff welcoming me. The restaurant itself is a bit small, but the serving staff there are very attentive and kind. And the decor within the place is very colorful and eye-catching.
The place also seems to be a hot spot for friends and family with children. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Curry with Melon Cream Soda. As I waited, the staff made sure every customer’s glass of water was always filled, and they took out out any remnants of trash that was on the table.
As soon as my food came out, it smelled absolutely delicious, so I immediately digged in. The curry sauce was hot and smooth, while the fried shrimp were so crispy and juicey. Paired with the cold melon soda, the entire dish was amazing.
I will definitely have to come back to this establishment with my friends and siblings, so we can try out the ramen and rice bowl dishes!

I absolutely loved the truffle ramen and all their tempura. I have eaten at many many japanese places that serves tempura but never had I found a place I truly enjoyed eating the tempura and even leaving me to crave it more. I think that merely means the tempura here is delicious, especially coming from someone who is normally not a tempura fan. As you can see, I ended up ordering more delivered to my home a couple of days after dining in the restaurant.

Tonkotsu ramen pork was very tender. We also got salmon yukke which was very good. The spicy tonkotsu isn’t just spicy, it’s also much saltier than the regular tonkotsu. Maybe ask for spicy sauce on the side. Parking is limited and the residential street behind the store doesn’t allow street parking except on Sundays.

This was my first time having ramen! The food was so delicious. We ordered the calamari and the fries as appetizers. The calamari is super fresh (no rings if you don’t like the tentacles). The fries were fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Shoyu Truffle Ramen and the Black Garlic Tonkotsu Ramen. Both had deep rich flavor and were filling. The place is small, but they get you seated as fast as possible.
