So glad this local brunch spot is open in Maywood! I came in for breakfast and was promptly seated. We were offered fresh cucumber water right away, which was very refreshing. We ordered the Chicken & Waffles and the American Breakfast (a special not listed on the menu). Both dishes arrived quickly and were absolutely delicious. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside while still juicy and tender inside. The American Breakfast was just as tasty, and both portions were generous. The coffee was freshly brewed, and we were even offered flavored creamers for extra flavor.
Our server was very attentive and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, which made the experience feel extra special. The overall vibe of the restaurant was great! It was clean, spacious, and ideal for private or semi-private gatherings. There’s also a beautiful outdoor patio. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are already looking forward to our next visit!

Upon suggestion from a friend who likes the place I reached out about venue rental for a sweet 16. Website said email. Send email and was told to text management. Texted the provided number and began working on details for party. The same night I visited restaurant to try the food and see the restaurant. It was a Tuesday and no other food was available from the menu except Tacos because it was Taco Tuesday. Never seen that before, but ok. But I mean NOTHING else, couldn’t even buy chips and salsa, lol. Server was great, no complaints there. Although she was the bartender and not familiar with changes to menu (she said) Met with the restaurant manager who showed me the space and texted me the catering menu (not online) and told me price would depend on what I choose. I sent the catering menu and a request for pricing for items I’d like to the original contact…radio silence. This was weeks ago. The music was good and decor is pretty tho.
*Update: Restaurant was very professional and prompt in their response. I’m already booked for the venue I was inquiring about but I appreciate their prompt response to address my concern!

If you’re looking for a great restaurant to enjoy amazing food and a fun, welcoming atmosphere, this is the place to be. The staff, owners, and cooks are all phenomenal, and the service truly stands out. I can never choose just one favorite dish, so here are my top three: the Chicken & Waffles — 10/10, the Shrimp & Grits — 10/10, and the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich — another 10/10.
You will not be disappointed! Come on out and experience the best restaurant in town. And did I mention the fully stocked bar and excellent drinks? Walking into the place is a vibe fresh air coming in through the open windows. Orded shrimp and grits, salmon croquets and grits and french toast with bacon and watermelon mimosa 10 for all three orders.
Love the ambiance.

This is a wonderful addition to the Maywood dining scene. The decor is top-notch, and there are two areas that can be used for private events. Latoya was amazing. She was our server, took us on a tour, and provided information about the restaurant. They have a beautiful outdoor space and plenty of parking in the back. The menu is limited. They just opened in May of this year, and they are still gathering information from customers on what to add. The grilled catfish plate was top-notch. It felt like a warm hug! There was plenty of food to take home. I would definitely go back to this restaurant.

Stopped in for breakfast with my wife and we had a great experience. We were seated right away, the food was tasty, and the coffee hit the spot. Love that it’s family owned — as a business owner myself, I enjoy supporting small places like this. Definitely glad we came, and I’d recommend giving it a try!

Unfortunately, I did not get to try the food. I stood patiently at the door, waiting to be seated and was blatantly ignored, while other customers entered and were given menus. Atmosphere and hospitality are essential in running a business. Not impressed with my first visit. Not sure if a second chance is warranted!

My family and I visited this establishment today and I must say we enjoyed everything about our visit. We had a party of 5 adults and 3 kids. Our waitress were very attentive and made us feel welcomed. The food was delicious I had the chicken and waffles. My husband loved the shrimp and grits. I definitely recommend. Oh and the atmosphere was beautiful, I loved the layout and decorations. Again it’s a must try, you won’t be disappointed.

Tori is truly an outstanding boss, as well as a fantastic hostess and cook. The cheeseburger she made was absolutely to die for, and the fries were perfectly seasoned—every bite was a delight. The prices are unbeatable, especially their incredible $5 drink special! From the moment I walked into the cafe & bistro, I felt warmly welcomed. The atmosphere is so inviting, with great vibes all around. Mike is a total character, always making me laugh, and his tequila lemonade is legendary. The staff here is top-notch—friendly, hardworking, and dedicated, which is especially impressive for a Black-owned business. I’ll definitely be coming back to this bistro for more great food, drinks, and that amazing energy!
