My wife had the special green chili stew, may I say….. “Stop the train!” As Guy Fieri might say, “We’re at flavor town!” I’m not a heat guy, this green chili stew had chicken, potatoe, tomatoes, green chili, and rice. You could feel the heat; but a lightweight like me could enjoy the sweet green chili flavor. Really, I had to eat some of hers after I devoured mine. lol
I had the green chili chicken fried steak. Hand breaded and skillet/grill fried, not deep fried, almost inch thick! We tasted the green chili before we ordered, hence why we ordered what we did. It really was one of the best dishes I’ve eaten in a while. They are am American diner, of which are becoming extinct in our day, with unprecedented homemade dishes.
Banana pudding was for dessert, complimentary only during lunch while they last. Soooo, show up early for lunch! Also made from scratch. Delicious!
This is our first time here; will definitely not be our last. Probably going to be a regular stop when we’re in town. We live about 70 miles away; but come to town when we’re home. So surprised. Completely satisfied! Please visit this place when you’re in Amarillo, TX. The process here are very reasonable and won’t break the bank. I know you’ll be as impressed as I, if ya’ll got a little country in ya.
Traveling through Amarillo, I did my usual search for local restaurants. This fit the bill perfectly and was packed. That’s a great sign.
Happy greeting, sat myself. Coffee was quickly brought and I ordered Chicken Fried steak, eggs and a biscuit. Can’t have enough gravy….
It was fabulous. Obviously care is taken and the cooks enjoy feeding folks.
A bit out of the way, but that makes it local!
