Young Chow’s is severely underrated. This place doesn’t get the business it deserves! Went in and got the New York Steak Grilled Dinner and it was better quality meat and a better cook than Fujiyama’s in its prime. The atmosphere is very cozy and inviting and we loved sitting near the fireplace. Service was very good and the waitress attended to us very diligently. She came through with water refills every time I was getting low without having to ask. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Try to give benefit of doubt, but this place should be 0 stars. Wondering if other reviews are fake. Low Mein noodls over cooked mush, general tzu mainly skin. Threw everything in the trash as soon as i opened back at hotel. Soda were all expired by month in the case and chef came out wearing a dirty apron and tank top. What the hell. 36 bucks literally wasted. You can see the half shirt chef in the door way of picture. Run.

The food is always delicious here. Staff is friendly. The owners are always on site and make sure you are well taken care of. I usually take out food, but have eaten in as well. Great atmosphere and able to have a conversation during dinner.

The sweet n sour dinner was served with onions and carrots slices.it was a large order and there was 12 pieces of chicken. My grandkids said they did not like it. The chicken tasted wet inside. My chicken and broccoli was in a to go container while there dinner was in a styrofoam container. I still had to wait 20 minutes at the drive thru pick up lane because they couldn’t find the order. Not happy at all, and when I called to complain about the food. I felt the American woman on the phone did not really care. Will never go again, and I will be dispute the charges!!!

Only one poor very worn out waitress working. Waited two hours to get our food. When food was received it was so bland and unappealing we asked to just pay for our sodas as we only took a bite and couldn’t stomach the food. Very odd. The waitress informed the cook who came out and told us we were the only ones who have ever complained about his cooking. Then walked off. I have never left a restaurant so displeased enough to ask to leave and not pay. They allowed it, fortunately. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

My family went to Young Chow’s quite a few times for lunch and dinner. Every time that we went the food was great and we enjoyed all the various dishes we ordered. We had different dishes from lunch and dinner specials to al carte items.

The restaurant seems to do well and is always busy, but they seem perpetually understaffed. On several different occasions, we had the same waitress who was the only one working as the wait staff for the entire restaurant. It didn’t affect our experience, but they should consider hiring some additional employees to help existing staff.

Local legendary place to dine-in or take-out. Staff is lovely. Food is legitimately better than any Chinese restaurant I’ve been in across the East coast in major cities. If you’re looking for Chinese, this is the spot.

Food/Taste/Flavor: 3/5 – ordered a Young Chow Fried Rice (large) and a Young Chow’s Special Chicken (small) with fried rice. We were surprised since the two to-go boxes weren’t that different in size but the chicken came with the whole box of rice and a separate container for chicken. When we ordered the fried rice we were thinking it was Youngzhou (Yeung Chow or Yang Chow) fried rice which is a egg fried rice with mixed vegetables, scallions, shrimp, and char siu (roasted pork). While it had some of the components, it was not very well seasoned and the proteins were not seasoned. The chicken was decent and the serving size was great!

Service: 5/5 – friendly. We asked about the size for the lunch special and the cashier mentioned it was closer to the small size for the food but that it came with a side and a soup/salad.

Ambiance: n/a – ordered food to go so we didn’t see much of the restaurant

Value for price: 4/5 – depends on the dish you get. Do NOT get a fried rice as it’s not worth the price but the chicken was decent in quantity of food.

We make a point to stop here for a meal when we are near Beckley. This time the slaw appetizer was very very spicy but not sweet. Not as good as it once was. Hubby had Orange Chicken and I had Ta Chen Chicken. Both were excellent as expected. We loved the fried rice as always, but the eggrolls were not the best. We still love the food and will be back!

The food was great, my friend and I ordered a variety of things and everything was really good. Our waitress was fantastic, very friendly and helpful. I also really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful Phoenix statue on the way in.
