I was in Omaha for the very 1st time, on a work trip. I thought I would end up at a steakhouse but instead I found this place on Google. And WOW I am SO glad I did! This was, without question one of the best sushi meals I have had. The food was delicious, presentation exquisite and the service incredible. Overall just the most wonderful experience. Now I actually hope to travel back to Omaha soon so that I can return for more!

Yoshimoto’s is perhaps one of the best sushi places I’ve been to recently. The attentiveness of the waitress and staff was very noticeable and the food was great. If you’re a sushi lover, this is your Midwestern Haven. Get any of the rolls that have wagyu. If you don’t like fish, you will love it.

One of the best sushi date nights in memory. The mackerel, baraniku, hani miso were all stand outs. The service was sublime, Kelly did a phenomenal job explaining the menu as we were first timers, and paid special attention to every detail down to my plate being just a touch wet from being recently washed, she wanted to get me a dry one and replaced it immediately.
The only thing that I could say could be improved is the amount of dust that was found in the place. Now I know it might just be hard to control, but the dark aesthetic and lighting makes dust really obvious, and we found ourselves batting it away from our food and drinks.

Service is a 3, not due to the waitresses, they are very well trained, and welcoming. The lower service rating is due to how exceedingly slow the kitchen puts out each item. It was not just our table looking around. I could see that other people were getting so bored with the horrendously lawn weight that they didn’t have anything else to talk about and we’re starting to take out their phones to fill in the time and the awkward length of having to wait for each item ordered. The food was very good but the weight is very off-putting. We actually we’re about to have our last item boxed up so that we could leave because it was taking so long. We didn’t want to sit there any longer. We didn’t even order dessert for Valentine’s dinner. We went somewhere else to get dessert. If it hadn’t taken so ridiculously lawn to get our meal, we probably would have tried the ube ice cream.
Considering the amount of time that it took even for what was supposed to be a romantic dinner because the excessive weight took away from it being a nice evening. The food was good but it was not $100 plus person good. We had water, no alcohol, no dessert, really did not order that much. My husband was still hungry and he’s not an excessive eater. We actually shared an entree, had three sashimi and a couple other items, and it was still $200. Not counting tip. A reservation was put in 2 and 1/2 months prior. I put in a special request with the chef which I was guaranteed that we would receive. They were not items that they do not already order. I had just asked for a particular style for the chef to use her creativity and come up with something using a couple the high-end items that they already regularly have. Considering the hype online in the articles and etc. This should not have been an issue and it did not happen which added to the very deflated experience. To say the least, it did not live up to the publicized hype and we will not be returning. We’ve had much better experiences at other sushi/Japanese restaurants and considering that Omaha is among the top five foodie destinations in the United States, this definitely put a damper on what should have been much better dining experience for Valentine’s. Many other restaurants go above and beyond for the Valentine couples experience and they fell flat on this.

Absolutely lovely experience at Yoshitomo. Our server was so kind and knowledgeable and she went above and beyond for us.
We chose to sit at the bar, which made for such a cool afternoon since we were able to see the chefs at work. They made sure to accommodate any dietary restrictions, answered any questions we had, and overall were lovely.
And of course, the food itself was outstanding. The nigiri we had was delicious, but my absolute favorite was the yaki gindara small bite (sablefish with yuzu sumiso). Every dish was a culinary adventure and I can’t wait to return.

Best experience with sushi. The server was passionate about the food he was serving, which I think is rare for any restaurant. He wanted to make sure our first time was as wonderful as he thought Yoshitomo was. Shout-out to James, who really went the extra mile. He was very helpful when describing and suggesting things to try. The sushi itself was amazing, and before we left the server brought out one last bite (the Ume Hirame) as a thank you for our visit, and it was the most beautiful piece to end on. Everyone in our party left happy and were talking about it nonstop after. No subbing/adding/removing items, but I find that really respectable when a chef is putting their art to your dish. The Prairie Tuna was wonderfully done with butter over wagyu. The Hama Toast is an enigma because the toast part was crispy on the outside but so fluffy on the inside for such a tiny piece. Each dish was delicious and wonderful in their own way and brought different textures and taste with them. Highly recommended!

I read great reviews of this place so knew it was a must-go on my one night in Omaha. I sat at the bar so got to see the sushi being made; would highly recommend if you’re dining solo or with someone else. I got the fried egg caesar (which was great but did not actually have an egg, lol); the hama toast, which came highly recommended and was probably my favorite dish; the osaka roll, amazing; the baraniku, which I ordered because I saw them making it — had incredible aged wagyu short rib; and the soft serve with a platter of toppings, which I hesitated on because I was full but it was adorable and one of the most unique desserts I’ve seen. My server was attentive and although it’s not an inexpensive meal, considering the quality of food and place it’s not overpriced. If I ever find myself back in Omaha I will definitely come back!

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Omaha. I want to thank whomever created the KC kama dish. It’s the most perfect plate of food you can have. Smokey, creamy, sweet and spicy with the balance of umami. I could eat this every single day. My partner commented that this is the only restaurant that he knows I will love every dish put in front of me. Your food brings me such happiness! Thank you for your skills and impeccable taste.
And if you love an Old Fashioned this one will change your life.

I can’t believe this place doesn’t have a solid five star rating. Every bite I had was more delicious than the last. Everything was perfectly smoky, evenly spiced, buttery soft and just exquisite. Our server was named…Holly? I think. She was excellent and brought us things to try (for my birthday) that were better than what we picked.
Hands down the best food I’ve ever put in my mouth in Omaha (and US).
Don’t come here looking for basic meals with crab Rangoon or egg rolls. Come here for brilliant flavors, textures and to have your mind blown.

I’ve have wanted to try this restaurant for a while and finally decided to give it a go. I came early without a reservation.. around 4:45. I was warmly greeted and then shown to the sushi bar. It was very cool to watch the chefs prepare the dishes. The waitress came over and explained the menu and gave me a couple of recommends. I decided to try something from every category minus the nigiri or sashimi. The dish that surprised me the most: Hama toast. I’ve never had sushi on sourdough but I really enjoyed it! My favorite dish: yaki gindara… very beautiful mild flavor with a nice hint of yuzu. I also ordered the royale… I normally love spicy sushi but this was SPICY!! Good flavors but spicier than I liked and wouldn’t get it again. Overall fantastic meal and excellent service!!
