The food was pretty solid. I got the cold squid salad…wasent the worst or the best I have had…and I have had many from many different sushi places.

The sushi itself (Rainbow Roll)…for the price (From NC and traveling thru) the prices were high…only bc of the size of the rolls. I would like to stress that for the areas I have ate sushi from and for the size and quality the prices were high. Maybe this is perfectly on par for Maine.

The quality of the fish WAS above average. I would say the quality of fish was a 8 or 9 out of 10…however again for the price and size of rolls…cant justify it. The rolls were also not cut right…its like the chef missed a cut ever other time and u had like a huge slice of sushi. I have had this happen one other time at a restaurant Im not sure if its intentional or what.

Also wait was about 30 or 40 mins from order to food on table. Considering the low amount of ppl in there…maybe they had a lot of door dashes going on but still I thought it took a while for food to be brought out. I believe there was only 1 sushi chef working. This was on a Saturday night 2 days after Christmas.

Bathroom also didnt have paper towels which I told waitress about.

One thing very COOL is u can sit traditional Japanese style on the floor on these little seat cushions. Really cool idea!

Yoshi, oh Yoshi…
I really enjoy Yoshi for many reasons. First is the personal service. The folks there make you feel like family. They take special care to ensure you are totally satisfied. The food is simply marvelous, and the taste requires absolutely nothing! I do adore the atmosphere as they play lite music in the background. I can say that I highly recommend dining here if you haven’t already. Great job Yoshi! Big wave to the owner and his family of employees!

Absolutely phenomenal. Hands down the best sushi I’ve had in all of Maine—and that’s saying something. I’m from Arizona and travel here for work, and I make it a point to try a new restaurant every single day. I’ve hit just about every sushi spot within a 100-mile radius… and this place clears all of them.

The quality, freshness, and execution are next level. Josh is incredibly talented—you can tell he truly knows his craft. Every roll was dialed in, balanced, and memorable.

Easy 10/10. If you’re even thinking about sushi in Maine, this is the spot.

I’m not a sushi enthusiast, but my husband absolutely loves it and Yoshi is his top choice every time. What’s great about Yoshi is that their menu offers so much more than just sushi. I personally adore their Cucumber salad with crab meat, and the Phad Thai didn’t disappoint either. Conveniently located with parking available, our overall experience here was fantastic.

Been eating here for 11.5 years and the food always good. I would say the best japanese food near Bangor-Brewer area. The owner and his kids were very nice. They always recognized us. Too bad that the owner changed soon but he will kept everything the same including the chef in the back. I love the appetizers, sushi, sashimi, main course food from this restaurant. The price also makes sense. One thing that I would change is the new owner needs to wears something to cover his long beard. He is working directly with the sushi making and customers can directly see him. It is not professional at all and afraid to order the sushi/sashimi just in case the hair from his beard fall down.

Best sushi we’ve had since moving to Maine. I’m so excited to find such a great spot in the Bangor area. Convenient location, easy to get to. Limited parking in front. Nice inside. Bright and clean. Pretty extensive menu and everything we ordered was so good. We started with green tea, salads with ginger dressing and soup. All good. As expected. Next we enjoyed some shumai, steamed and fried gyoza and spring rolls. Everything was delicious abd plated nicely. That was followed by sashimi, a shrimp tempura roll topped with salmon and egg rolls. No complaints at all. The fish was super fresh, everything was great. So flavorful and my husband who was stationed in Japan for a few years in the Navy was even impressed! Service was friendly and helpful. The waitress even went out of her way to answer our question about one of the accompaniments. Nice size portions. We came home with leftovers. I’m excited to go back and try some more things from the menu.
