The story of Yosemite and the connection with our Valley goes back to the historic logging days of the early 1900’s. What we now call Shepherd was once the route traveled by the logs heading for the Sugar Pine Lumber Co. in Pinedale directly from the areas surrounding Yosemite. We love that we are able to reach back into a bit of history to create a Fresno restaurant that is as historic as it is right on que for today’s dining experience. Fresno restauranteur Dave Fansler has brought together years of restaurant experience and hospitality to create a truly unique vibe, only Yo Ranch!
Steaks, seafood & roasted dinners like prime rib served in a relaxed setting with weekly live music.

Fantastic place to have a great memorable meal. One of the best steak I have ever sunk my teeth into, it was a beautiful 10oz Santa Maria steak, looked just like fillet of mignon, for a little bit more there several ways they offered to have your steak finished I chose Black and Bleu and oh boy I was surely surprised with how much additional flavor it added. It came with crispy onions, on a sizzling hot plate drizzled in butter and a mild bleu cheese, you could barely taste just a hint of the bleu cheese, absolutely pefect i didntover power the star of the plate the gorgeous Steak. The calamari was fantastic perfectly breaded with a lovely lemon butter sauce, I dare to say it was on par with the best calamari you can order in Monterey. Also a ribeye was ordered, and it was perfectly cooked to medium rare. This meal was memorable, it is a great place to have a special dinner celebration.

Very good place to eat. Probably the best steakhouse I’ve ever ate at. The Appetizer, Entres, and Dessert we had were amazing.. The service is fantastic.. Highly recommend this place to eat. It’s a little pricey, but worth every penny.

Great vibe, most of the food was delicious, prime rib was excellent. I will never order the rib eye again it was so tough, I ordered it medium rare Chicago style never again. Other than that the service was great. Kristy our server was awesome.

This is a wonderful restaurant and especially in this festive time of year. They have a fantastic fireplace going in the waiting area. We were seated very quickly. The food was delicious. You should expect to spend about $60 a plate after tax and gratuity perhaps a bit more if you order steak and cocktails.

Just had an incredible dining experience here, largely thanks to the excellent service from Gia! Even though it was super busy for New Year’s day, she was very attentive, quick and she has a great personality.
The food was really good as well. We had the house stuffed bread, the short rib pasta, the Chicago style ribeye, and lastly, the pumpkin cheesecake! All of these dishes were fireeee!

Exceptional dining experience – a real Fresno favorite
Yosemite Ranch always provides a wonderful dining experience from beginning to end. The atmosphere feels both elegant and comfortable, so it works well for business dinners, date nights, and special celebrations.
The food is truly excellent. The steaks are cooked perfectly—tender, full of flavor, and well seasoned. Every plate shows careful attention to detail, from how it looks to how consistent the flavors are. Appetizers and side dishes are well made, and the wine list offers great options that go nicely with the food.
The service is outstanding. The bar staff are professional, fast, and genuinely friendly. A special thanks to Steven and Adeline, whose great attention to detail, strong product knowledge, and warm personalities made the evening even better. Their service really stands out and supports the restaurant’s high-end reputation.
Overall, Yosemite Ranch is one of the top places for fine dining in the area. Consistently great food, excellent service, and a refined but relaxed atmosphere make it a place you should definitely visit. I highly recommend it and gladly give it five stars.

Yosemite Ranch is a nice restaurant. The interior is simple with a touch of elegance and class but still comfortable and not snobby feeling. We were promptly helped by the hostesses who were warm and friendly. Our server was friendly and efficient but service did feel a bit rushed as she would start walking away before we even finished answering her questions and the bill was dropped at the same time as the dessert among other things. Food was just ok and it took quite a long time to come to the table despite it not being that busy. The steak was disappointing as I had ordered it medium rare and it was served well done and dry. Overall just an ok restaurant but in all honesty it won’t be a regular spot for us.

Went out for a nice dinner, and Yosemite Ranch didn’t disappoint! It was nice they served dinner earlier than other restaurants. The restaurant was warm, and cozy. Service was great, and the server was very nice and friendly! I would definitely recommend this place for a wonderful dinner experience!

The short rib was delicious, and the steaks were very tasty as well. Brussels sprouts and vegetables were also great.
However, they really have issues with potatoes. The mashed potatoes that came with the short rib had huge chunks — about 0.5 inch by 0.5 inch — as if nobody knew you can push them through a sieve for a smooth texture. The baked potato was served cold, and the cheese on top didn’t even melt.
Overall, good meat and veggies, but disappointing sides.

Went for apps and drinks. Sat at the bar-at opening time. Food is always consistent and good. My drink was small and weak which was disappointing. Last time it was delicious. That is on the bartender! They should bring back Happy Hour!
