Located inside the Ontario Mills Mall. We stopped by for a snack wall cruising the mall to blow time before our flight out of the Ontario Airport. We didn’t want to eat too much so we just shared an order of shrimp dumplings and pan fried Pork dumplings. The dumplings were good by themselves, but the dipping sauce was a little too vinegary for me. They also serve ramen, noodle dishes, rice bowls, some traditional Taiwanese dishes, sushi, hibachi entrees, smoothies and more. It’s a nice place to have a meal and their prices are very reasonable. They can be better at keeping the tables clean after customers leave.

Super mess exprience. I ordered R1 Ramen, ate at the Restaurant, but I didn’t expect Yong Kang Street uses low class plastic bowl for hot noodle soup. After the meal, I gave a suggestion to Server Chen that paper bowl or other container should be used for hot soup as extractables from plastic are not healthy. To my surprise, server Chen got super angry and rude. She was screaming ” why did you eat this noodles, not asked to return? why didn’t you cook at home for healthy? ” I paid it first and they served, so I finished the meal and gave a suggestion only. I told her all instant noodles from grocery store are in paper bowl. Chen didn’t get my point at all, and she was still in crazy bad mood. I tried to take picture for plastic bowl, one guy used his hand to cover it, and then server Chen immediately jumped to me, taking pictures for my face. I just wanted to take a picture for plastic bowl to share on the review, Chen took pictures for my face Lol, then I learned from her, taking her face, a crazy mess just because of my suggestion for plastic bowl

to locate this place is next to the Ontario Mills Mall , next to the food court is next to the huge fashion “Q” store.
My honest review. I like coming here for lunch because it’s nice and clean, there are lots of tables, and I can always find a good one. The only bad thing is that it’s inside a mall, so it can be hard to find a parking spot when the mall is busy.
The food is fresh, and the shrimp fried rice is delicious. In fact, everything on their menu is tasty and new. This is the best place to go if you want some good rice or noodles.
The staff doesn’t say hello or thank you when you order; I think they’re just waiting for you to say something. I went today, March 26, at 1:15, and the woman didn’t even say hello or thank you; she just gave me my receipt and left without saying thank you for my order. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s a great place to eat. Again Its always GOOD TASTY FOOD .

The lady in the previous review is misconstruing the reality of what had happened. She came in late at 9 PM, right when YKS was closing and they let her order a ramen despite the restaurant already closing. She ordered a ramen for here, picked up her order, said nothing, ate it all and came back to complain. Her “suggestion” for switching the ramen from plastic bowls were more of an antagonizing comment than a suggestion. When questioned why she didn’t just request a refund, she frantically started taking pictures of everyone and everything. She could not accept that almost EVERY restaurant in the mall including the food quart uses disposable containers for hygienic purposes. She was then escorted out by security for yelling and causing a scene.

As its name implies it’s a Taiwanese food place, however one may be confused with its offering of sushi, ramen, etc. I went with one of my favorite Taiwanese dishes: beef noodle soup. The serving was rather small, but it was decent for a place inside of Ontario Mills. The flavor was close to authentic and you do get to choose spicy or not. It could’ve been better if more cilantro was added (hardly any in my soup) and the noodles could use another minute of cooking (just slightly under cooked). I just happened to have had a beef noodle soup at the original Yongkang Street in Taipei a couple months ago. The ones here were not as strongly flavored as the originals, but I think that’s due to the fact that this place serves mostly non-Chinese patrons. If this place serves beef tendon noodle soup, then I would be here quite often. The seating area was spacious and clean. It also has its own bathroom so you don’t have to fend yourself in a mall bathroom. I didn’t try the other dishes but found it surprising that other reviewers gave a lower than 4 rating based on what I have tasted today.
Note: the 4-star rating given here was based on its location in Ontario Mills. Otherwise this place would be a 2-3 star.

A LITTLE TOO MUCH GOING ON… the Japanese, Chinese, Taiwanese restaurant has a good selection of soups, ramen and dishes. However, the focus on too many different kind of cuisines creates a deficit in the quality of some of the food. The food isn’t bad, it’s not great, it’s just meh. Lukewarm quality I guess? The Taiwanese Beef Soup is very standard, it’s spicy, yet underwhelming broth with overly tough beef and bland noodles. It’s serviceable but definitely not something that will blow the socks off Asian cuisine. The dumplings are solid but probably something I can buy at the store. The prices veer on the pricier side so be aware of that just in case. Also, this place is always packed with tourists, don’t be fooled. I happened to go when it was quiet and it was a nice ambience, however note that lots of screaming kiddos come here on busy mall days.

I was really excited to try a ramen place inside the mall, but unfortunately my experience was disappointing. The cashier taking my order seemed very impatient and dismissive, which made the ordering process uncomfortable. I didn’t catch his name, but he appeared to be in his 40s and was visibly irritated while I was trying to read the menu. (There was nobody else in line but us.) Even at the end of the visit, his lack of mannerisms and dismissive attitude left a negative impression.
On the positive side, the restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, and I could see myself recommending it if the customer service improved. For now, though, the service overshadowed the food and environment, so a 2-star rating feels appropriate. Hopefully, they can work on their hospitality, because good ramen deserves better service.

Ordered the veggie tofu ramen. Broth was good yet for all the hype I think my expectation was higher. Not bad, just maybe needed more veggies or a bit more punch. My husband chicken teriyaki had some cartilage left, not cleaned properly. I would come back and try other items, place was clean and open space. The steamed dumplings were good.

In Taipei, Taiwan, if you mention Yong Kang Street (永康街), people know this area is very famous for its diverse range of restaurants and street food stalls.
When I saw Yong Kang Street located in Ontario Mills, I just gave it a try. I only ordered Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken and bubble tea before picking up my family from ONT Airport.
Is it really the Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken? Overcooked, not crispy and no basil. Hard to eat. This is the worst Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken I’ve ever had in Southern California. I did not eat them all. Finally, I threw it away.
This so-called Yong Kang Street has an undeserved reputation . The food is quite disappointing.
Will not go back definitely.
