Wow there are no words for how amazing the food is. Every thing is made fresh. The portions are generous. If you want an authentic Soul flavor this is the place. I had the jerk chicken with Mac and cheese and cabbage with sausage. My husband had catfish Mac and cheese and candied yams. Wonderful all of it. Now if you go make sure to carve time out because good things come to those who wait. The cook even came out to let us know about the wait time. It was worth it. We will be coming back as often as we can.

Can’t beat the flavor for their prices! This place is amazing, had them catered at work and had to come in personally. The owner is very nice and conversational. The food was out of this world. I absolutely loved their nachos! My boyfriend said the ribs and sides tasted like his grandpas home cooking. Will definitely be returning! They definitely could charge more for how good the food is.

We ordered the jerk chicken and turkey ribs (they were out of pork ribs, but honestly the turkey ribs were phenomenal and didn’t disappoint at all). The kids had the chicken and waffles and absolutely loved them.
The sides were just as impressive:
rich, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The mac and cheese was amazing, the cornbread was spot on, and the green beans, collard greens, and dirty rice were all outstanding.
You can tell everything is made with care and pride. We’ll definitely be back, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit.

Oh my goodness! I’m so glad we found Yolonda’s Place in Kokomo. Amazing southern soul food – we had jerk chicken, ribs, green beans, and cabbage. It was all so delicious! I’m delighted that the portions were so big that I get to enjoy the rest of mine again tomorrow! Hubby now wishes he ordered a full rack of ribs so he could do the same! 😉

The sides are pretty great, if a little pricy for what you get. Portion sizes are very generous across the board. Cornbread was great, collards were excellent.

I’m homeless, I rarely eat anything outside of ramen noodles or McDonald’s $5 meal deals today I wanted to eat good. I chose this over my car having a full tank of gas. I in no way shape or form regret it. I spent my last dollar here and didn’t even have enough the lady really helped me out. It was my first time and the food is OUTSTANDING. Absolutely full of flavor with each bite. Thank you to the kind woman who helped me have a great meal tonight.

This place is awesome. Such friendly staff. A good live DJ on Saturdays. Delicious food with big portions. I got the jerk chicken with Mac n cheese and collard greens and it was fantastic. Real good southern cooking. Just a hint of spice (heat) but nothing hotter than a nice medium heat. Tried the ribs as well and they were so tender and perfect. Large portions. You will not go away hungry. Really nice crowd too. Almost all the tables were full but service was fast enough no one was really waiting around. Really a very good flow of business.

I am not sure I can do Yolanda’s Place justice in a review – but I am honored to get to try! We visited on 10/19 – and good thing it was a Sunday – because their food was a religious experience! The jerk chicken had a flavor so well developed – you can taste the legacy that inspired this little restaurant. Their mac n cheese put every church lady I have ever known to shame. The catfish & candied yams were perfection – and the collared greens were out of this world with the smoked turkey. Melted butter served with the cornbread was a nice touch – even though my cornbread didn’t even need it! Hidden gem I cannot wait to visit again! The service was like hanging out with your fun family members you do not get to see often enough!
