Great place for authentic Japanese food without the high price. I had the Tonkatsu Miso Ramen and Maki Veggie roll. Both were tasty and a great value for the price. The pork in the ramen was a thick slice of seasoned pork belly which is a nice variation from the usual thin sliced pork loin found in most ramen. The Maki Veggie roll was simple and satisfying. It had cream cheese in it which gave it some substance and made it more filling—It worked for me. I stay in Akumal and was very happy to find good Asian food within a 15 minute drive. The restaurant is located on the Pueblo side of Puerto Aventuras so I can take care of some shopping at the grocery store while I’m there. If you’re looking for some chic, high end sushi bar this is not the place. It’s a place that serves the local community and is run by a lovely family where the owner takes time to say hello to his customers. Highly recommend for a casual meal or takeout.

This little gem stands out amongst the many other great little restaurants in the area for being so unique, family run, and authentic. The family is Japanese, and know the items on their menu well. As a part Japanese family ourselves, we felt right at home with the authentic fare, the fat and friendly service, and absolutely reasonable pricing. Of course, the fish is as fresh as you can imagine. It’s a great restaurant!

A lovely little Japanese-family-owned restaurant making authentic, delicious food in Mexico. We loved the pork donburi (!) the most; the onigiri is also great. The price point is also very reasonable and the portion sizes are good. I’d highly recommend this restaurant to anyone missing Japanese cuisine.

We accidentally ran into this restaurant given there was a road accident and a 1 hour congestion. So we figured we might as well stop over in the nearby town a bit. But this restaurant surprised us! Never imagine we can have sushi of this quality in such a local town! It is very fresh and just very fresh!! The taste of the fish dominates then comes the aroma of cucumber and avocado , with the mix flavour of Japanese rise everything is just so good!!! We highly recommend this place

A small little Japanese shop that makes authentic, fresh, delicious food. They accommodated every request we made and prepared the food quickly. Affordable too! If you want Japanese in the area, this is the place! It’s on a busy street so best for take out or delivery but they very graciously accommodated all 11 of our group one evening we dined there instead of getting takeout.

Very very nice place!
Food is excellent, the owners are very friendly, their kids presence in the restaurant make a familiar atmosphere, all together a very pleasant experience!
We came back for dinner also the next day as we enjoyed it so much.

I went with my large family including children. Some of my family are Japanese, so they know what good sushi should taste like – and this was it! The restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. We had the ramen, many types of rolls, fish bowls and chicken teriyaki. Everything was freshly made and super delicious. You can even call ahead to preorder and pick up. We will definitely eat here again!!!

Wanted to love this place; we eat a lot of sushi at home.
Food. We loved the potstickers, but did not eat more than 1 bite of the sushi, mixed fried rice, or what we would call at home, Ebi nigiri. The first two lacked flavor completely (we gave the food away), and the picture on the menu shows ebi nigiri, but they served regular shrimp which has a completely different texture and taste.
Service. They acknowledged us when we arrived and we were the only in-restaurant guests. It took them 15m to come to our table. Come to find out, they were assembling to go orders in the back. Additionally, said orders had to be delivered and then the gentleman came back and started preparing our food. At this point, 30m had passed. At about 40m, we finally received the potstickers. The rest in about 50m.
Atmosphere. 1 table outside whereas the pic shows more outside. It was loud (not their fault), but better than inside where the child was screaming at his video games. I’m absolutely fine w families needing to care for their children but…
Positives: relatively cheap and they deliver!
