I’d give this yakitori spot a solid 4 stars. The food was good and hit the cravings, but nothing really stood out as especially unique. The skewers were cooked well, flavors were balanced, and everything came out pretty quick. It’s the kind of place where you know exactly what you’re getting—comforting, reliable yakitori without any surprises.
The interior is actually pretty fun. You’ll see a lot of San Diego Padres pride throughout the restaurant, mixed with Japanese soccer team memorabilia, which gives it a quirky East-meets-West vibe. It definitely adds character and makes the space feel lively.
Service was friendly, prices were reasonable, and overall we had a nice time. I wouldn’t say it’s a must-try or anything particularly special, but it’s a good, dependable spot when you’re in the mood for yakitori and a chill atmosphere.

RESERVATION IS MUST. This place is speciality for skewers, so many varities of chicken skewers – skin cartilage, gizzards, thigh, wings, heart etc etc., so anything can click for anyone. My favorites are chicken meatballs skewers – very juicy and flavorful, and Chicken gyozo. This is the only place where I felt gyozo filling is flavorful I would definitely revisit this place.

Located on the west side of Convoy Street. Parking during regular meal times can be difficult. If you plan to dine during the crowded times, make reservations and get there early to find parking.
The yakitori was amazing, I’d go back for that alone. I wasn’t too thrilled with their weekly special curry noodles.
Service is decent enough, the yakitori comes out pretty quick. They didn’t get our entire order, so we just cancelled a couple things. Because of how fast pace things are, ask them to repeat back your order so you’re not wasting time waiting like we did.

Hands down best Izakaya in the City. Super authentic and incredibly tasting everything from the Yakitori skewers to the dessert of deep fried cheesecake it was super bomb. We made a reservation because we’d tried to walk in twice before and got turned away. It was totally worth the wait. Can’t wait to go back. Keiko was really nice too.

Kind of pricey for the food but all of the skewers have good flavor. The kimchi pork was my favorite. I came as a walk-in and it was about an hour and a half wait. I would come back here again.

There was a lot of vegetarian options, but I was not incredibly impressed with the dishes I had. Although, it did give me a chance to try a new meal: the green tea noodles.
My takeaway: Yokohama is a good place to get some quick bites and a hot cup of sake! Overall this restaurant is unique, fast, and charming.

The chicken are so fresh and delicious! Also the beef tongue is a must try. Light smoky flavor adds new layer of aroma to the skewers. So happy to have such authentic Japanese cuisine here. I would at least pay double the price for this same level food in NYC. Service is not so warm but its OK for me.

We were in San Diego on vacation and to visit family. The skewers were something new to a boy from Mississippi. Great meal. The service was especially good.

Good spot for grilled skewers but nothing seemed to really shine except the chicken thighs. Everything was grilled to medium doneness which made beef items a little more tougher. Maybe they need to cook closer to the coals, the beef tongue and beef short ribs were a bit overcooked – could greatly benefit if cooked to medium rare.
Service was good. The atmosphere felt lively.
