First time eating here food was not the best, but it was not the worst kind of middle of the road a little expensive for what you get, and they did get my order mixed up, I ordered dragon Phoenix, and I’m not sure. I think this was some kind of Mongolian delight, but after they brought it, I went on ahead and just decided to eat it anyways, and it was not bad. The atmosphere is so nice but the food isn’t what it used to be from years ago. I ordered a lunch shrimp fried rice the shrimp tasted old and they were chopped in half giving allusion of more than what was actually on my plate. The rice also tasted old. I gave 1 star for food and service. I want be going back.

We had a fantastic experience at Yoe Xpress! The sweet and sour chicken was a hit with our kids, and the Mongolian chicken was perfect for the adults—flavorful and cooked just right. They even threw in two egg rolls, which were a nice bonus, and the fried rice was delicious. Our order was ready quickly, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. Great food, great service—highly recommend!

Don’t focus on the 2 stars for atmosphere, unless you’d rather pay for ambience than for good food. The thing that first hooked me on Yoe Express was their coconut soup. Even on that visit I noticed the good price for their lunch specials (which appear to be available at other times as well). So on my next visit I decided to try the black pepper chicken. It was really good, AND the portions of the chicken and the fried rice were large enough that I ate half and took the rest home for dinner. I’ll be back again and again to try the other dishes. Back to the prices – with meal prices going up and up at other restaurants I go to, it’s nice to see Yoe not following suit. You can still get a generous meal of good food for a reasonable price. If you live in Homewood, you owe it to yourself, and to the good folks at Yoe Express, to support this establishment. If you don’t live in Homewood, get in the car and drive there to check it out; it won’t be your last time.
