Rolling into Yoder’s Kitchen at 8am on a Saturday with a party of TEN and getting seated immediately felt like winning the breakfast lottery . No reservation, no wait, no panic — just straight to the good stuff.
And the buffet? Oh, it delivered. Fresh, hot, made‑that‑morning goodness everywhere you looked. Eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, cold items, hot items — basically a breakfast theme park without the long lines ️. The fresh fruit and pastries were so good I briefly considered pretending they were “healthy choices” to justify going back for seconds… or thirds .
The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, handling our group like it was no big deal. Friendly smiles, quick service, and that warm, welcoming vibe that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into someone’s home kitchen — if that someone happened to be a breakfast wizard ♂️ .

If you ever find yourself in Illinois Amish Country (or within a couple hours), you have to go to Yoders Kitchen in Arthur, IL. There are too many things to choose from so go for the buffet. Every night there are different items (menu is online) but I waited until tonight so I could get all of my favorite comfort foods: broasted chicken, chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans (all of those are on the buffet every day for lunch and dinner) plus pot roast, turkey and dressing, and spaghetti. They also have a huge salad bar, a couple different soups, and a few different cobblers and treats for dessert. There are fresh baked pies also but those are an extra charge. Everything is made from scratch and definitely tastes like eating a Sunday dinner at Grandma’s. Everything was delicious; there wasn’t a single item I didn’t like.

We came over to Yoder’s Kitchen for a Valentine’s Day lunch, and it was absolutely perfect. The fried chicken was hands down the best we’ve ever had — crispy on the outside, juicy and flavorful on the inside, and cooked just right. You can tell it’s made with care.
Every single side we tried was fantastic too. From start to finish, everything tasted fresh and homemade. The whole meal felt comforting and special at the same time — exactly what you want for a Valentine’s date.
Great food, warm atmosphere, and service that makes you feel right at home. We’ll definitely be back!

Okay, the food here is ridiculous — in the best way possible. You can go for the all-you-can-eat option or just order a few plates, either way, you’re in for a treat. Everything tastes fresh and flavorful, and it really hits the spot. After eating, you can wander into the gift store and pick up food items, little goodies, and more. There’s also a ton of furniture displayed outside, which makes it feel like a fun little outdoor shopping experience too. Honestly, it’s the kind of place you can spend a few hours enjoying food, browsing the store, and just taking it all in. Definitely a local favorite for good reason, and I’ll be coming back soon.

Stopped into Yoder’s Kitchen in Arthur, Illinois, for a quick lunch. Place was clean, and they got me seated and my drink order in right away. Can’t complain about the service, it was fast. I went for the buffet, figuring an Amish place would have a good spread. Well, it was alright, but not what I was expecting. The fried chicken was crispy, which is always a plus, and the flavors were decent enough. Though, I have to say, that chicken and noodles needed a good dose of salt. It was just a little bland. It wasn’t a bad meal, but I was hoping for more variety. Left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

This was my first time here, and I will definitely be back. Their food is all homeaide and is amazing. This time, I went with a group from work and took the residents, which they loved, but next time, I’m bringing my kids with me. They would love this place and the atmosphere.
