Honest opinion….. the sushi was almost top shelf, just a few imperfections like too many micro-greens on top and the ginger was not-so-fresh. Other than that, 4 star food. Pricing was a bit odd. Too much decor and rugs. Must try the Asian nachos, those were 5 stars for sure. Definitely check it out. It felt very homey in there. A little too compartmentalized inside but overall a good experience.

New restaurant in downtown West Branch with much potential. We went just before the dinner rush. Food came out a bit slower than expected, but totally excusable as all items on this relatively small menu are hand made. I would suggest dining at an off hour.
Food is very fresh and tasty. Chef has decent knife skills.
Portion sizes are fair for cost, considering Japanese cuisine is inherently expensive. Staff is very friendly and competent.
Four meals with 2 appetizers and 4 soft drinks, tax ,and tip came out to $81.00. Cost is high per person compared to other local restaurants, but you pay for quality.
I am looking forward to going back when new items are introduced.

This is by far my favorite Sushi joint! The owner is very nice and personable. He made some phenomenal California Rolls for us. The best part is the ‘whole’ roll is giant. I split a whole with my daughter, and with an order of dumplings as well, we leave full. The prices are very, very reasonable. My daughter and I can walk away from there for $25, not including tip. Where else can you get great sushi with great proportions for such a great price? Nowhere, trust me, I’ve looked.

Get the nachos! We normally come in and grab food to go but we decided to do a date night and come in to try more of the menu. We ordered a few different things the nachos were so so good. Everything was extremely fresh. The chef puts a lot of thought into each dish and takes pride in providing good food. He has really mastered a delicious sushi place. Can’t wait for our next date night to try more things! Service is great too! I also love that they have a kids menu so we can bring our daughter and she has options other than sushi. All In all I proudly give 10/10

3.5 is probably closer for me but……that would be comparing it to Sushi down state, which from my experience is less expensive and may be in part due to the difference in selection. For example, I ordered the $16 Philly role which came with your choice of meat, was good. A Philly role in A2 costs more like $7 and may or may not have fish included. My kids love sushi and can put away a couple roles a piece so I couldn’t afford bringing them, but for an occasional craving for myself, I might splurge.
The crab racoon, 5 for $8, I ordered was extremely fresh and delicious. I am accustomed to getting that orange sauce with them so this was a little different, a little spicier.

I drove 6 hours to visit my family from college and we drove another hour just to come here. Let me tell you, it was worth it! The food was tasty, well presented, and the portions were great. Friendly atmosphere, great service, and its always lovely to hear a small business owner want to bring excellent things to town. I highly recommend coming here–and getting the nachos!

I wanted to have sushi for my bday lunch and this is the best I have had! The waitress, chef, and cook were all very friendly and more then happy to help us figure out what we wanted and answer our questions. The place was very clean and I was just over all impressed I will be going back I definitely recommend giving them a try you will want to go back! And the presentation on these rolls look at the pictures below they did a amazing job.. thank you Yo Sushimi

Just because West Branch is a rural Michigan town does not mean it doesn’t have truly excellent sushi! They were able to accommodate gluten free as well. Very friendly and the food is as beautiful as it was tasty.

First time getting sushi here and everything was amazing! The staff was very accommodating with our large order. Sushi was presented beautifully. The crab ragoons were the best I’ve had yet. Definitely will be going back!

I was looking for sushi I could eat that’s gluten free. They don’t have a dedicated menu, but they definitely have options. The owner, Casey, was extremely knowledgeable about gluten, friendly, and helped us to order. They had special ingredients on hand dedicated for gf, like gf soys sauce packets. I got the spicy tuna roll which was delicious!
