I recently tried YGF Malatang and it was honestly really good. The noodles were super flavorful and had a nice chewy texture that made them really satisfying to eat. The broth soaked into everything perfectly, so every bite tasted rich and comforting. I also liked that the ingredients tasted fresh and well cooked.

The drinks were surprisingly good too. They were refreshing and balanced the spicy noodles really well, especially after a few bites of the malatang. It made the whole meal feel complete.

Very fresh selections and delicious broth. The classic herbal beef bone soup was thick and flavorful and same goes for the tomato soup. You can customize the spice level in each soup base. The dry version was real spicy and there’s no option to customize it. Their speciality bubble tea/ fruit tea was also good. Love it that it came with a sauce station where you can customize your own preferred sauces too.

Went Monday at 2 PM. No line not busy. I like how you can make your own sauce to go with your meal. You pick your food put it in the bowl, then you pay for it and pick whatever soup base.

I will definitely come here again.

YGF Malatang is my absolute favorite hot spot in the Seattle area. I love how you can configure portions depending on how hungry you are! The classic beef broth is super rich and flavorful, and the richness puts it apart from most standard hot pot experiences. The location in southcenter also has a free sauce bar, a tea bar, and aprons (especially good if you wear white clothing)! The vast selection of ingredients really is icing on the cake. Each ingredient is cooked perfectly too, not just thrown in the pot to boil.

非常好吃 – 10/10

Was worried about the line at first but amazed how quickly it moved! The staff is friendly, efficient and being a first timer got carried away with 3.5 lbs of food haha! The tom yum broth is great and even the mild carried a decent spice flavor! But for me i think I can amp up a notch on my future visit! The selection is great and my bowl is tasty!

It’s been a while since my last visit to YGF Malatang—the previous time, the flavors just didn’t wow me. I’m not sure if it was the spice level, the ingredients I chose, or the overall vibe, but it felt underwhelming.
This month, though, I was in the area with a friend and decided to give it another shot. Wow—what a pleasant surprise! The place has undergone some impressive changes.
First off, the ingredient selection area is much improved. There are now staff members keeping a close eye on everything to ensure it’s clean and fresh. The glass doors are properly closed when not in use, and it seems they’ve upgraded the quality of the meats and vegetables—they taste noticeably better and fresher.
The biggest upgrade? The soup bases! They used to offer only spicy and tomato. Now there are three options:
• Beef bone broth (with spice levels 1–4—I’ve been going for level 4, the spiciest, and it’s perfectly manageable and delicious for me).
• Classic tomato for non-spicy lovers.
• A unique “numb and spicy” (ma la) broth mixed with sesame sauce—it’s rich and flavorful without being a traditional soupy base.

They’ve also added a great self-serve dipping station where you can load up on extra garlic, chili peppers, green onions, and more.

To top it all off, if you dine in, the staff brings complimentary fruit at the end of the meal—last time it was two slices of watermelon per person, and today it was fresh orange segments. It’s such a thoughtful touch and a refreshing way to balance the heat.

Oh, and they now serve creamy soft-serve ice cream cones! I couldn’t resist grabbing one—totally unprecedented and the perfect sweet finish.

YGF Malatang has seriously stepped up their game. Highly recommend giving it a try if you haven’t been lately!

Easily one of my favorite places to eat! They give you a big bowl and tongs – and you pick out what ingredients you want to go into your soup. You pay by weight, choose a broth, and then they cook it in the back for you.

They have a great selection of seafood, meat, tofu, hard boiled eggs, and 6+ types of noodles.

Plus they had so many fresh veggies – bock choi, lotus root, baby carrots, snow peas, and 6+ different types of mushrooms!

And don’t even get me started on their broth – they have so many options, and two of them are vegetarian friendly!

This place would be a great place to visit on a chilly rainy day – good thing it rains a lot in Seattle!

We love coming here. We come here 2 or 3 times a week. The food is great. Having to choose what I can put on my noodles is very convenient. The staff are very friendly. The shelf is always replenished. Overall the place is clean. Would really recommend this place to anyone that loves noodles.

Love this place! I’ve been here a handful of times and it hits. Very unique to put whatever you want in a bowl and then have them cook it in the kitchen with your favorite broth or stir fry. I’ve tried many flavors and the house broth is the best one.

Don’t forget to get a free bib (your food splashes!) and don’t forget to make your hotpot dipping sauce!
