From out of town and had an extra hour to stop and wanted to try something local. Very glad that I did.
From the friendliness of the staff (Millie was my server and very helpful picking out my meal) and the kitchen staff being very pleasant. It was a treat from start to finish.
I had the brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, baked beans, and waffle fries and everything was insanely fresh and extremely filling.
Pit Master Matt was an absolute blast to talk to and very informative on everything with the menu. He clearly cares for everything he puts into the place and I am very glad to support this.

Stopped by for lunch. Since this was my first time there, I did the 2 meat basket. I chose pulled pork and ribs with the sides of baked beans and potatoe salad. Pulled pork was good, but the ribs were outstanding. Amazing flavor and fell off the bone. At the top of the best tasting ribs I have ever had. Beans were good, and so was potatoe salad, but wow, on those ribs.

What a fantastic diamond in the rough! The building looks like your standard roadside diner, yet the food offered within is extraordinary. I ordered the 2-meat platter, which comes with two sides. From the many meat options, I chose brisket and ribs. For my sides, I elected the mac & cheese and coleslaw.
The BBQ brisket had a deep smoky flavor that was delicious even without adding sauce. No knife needed here as the beef separated with the slightest pressure from my plastic fork. On the table were four sauces to choose from: Tangy; Sue Tang; Classic; Sweet & Smoky. I tried them all. Most were too sweet for me. Sue Tang was my favorite. The BBQ ribs were truly falling off the bone. A single stab from my fork between two ribs caused all the meat in that area to separate from the bones in two large chunks. The flavor was fantastic. I love a good brisket. It is almost always my favorite when offered, but in this case, the ribs got first prize.
The mac & cheese was tasty and only lacked temperature. The coleslaw was creamy with a kick, just as promised. This is exactly the way I like my coleslaw.
Service here was served with a smile and each employee seemed to sincerely appreciate and enjoy their work. Multiple pie options were available, but I decided to save those for my next visit. Do your taste buds a favor and visit this fine establishment.

The new mac stack sammie was absolutely delicious! Toasted bun, succulent meats and creamy, gooey mac and cheese! The staff was warm and friendly as always. Plus, Malcolm McDowell just filmed movie scenes there yesterday! Yergy’s is a must visit if you’re near Bluffton, IN.

My husband and I tried this place for the first time on a Friday night. There was no wait to order at the counter, but it did take a while for our food to come out. The food was not good. My husband had the pulled chicken sandwich with a side of waffle fries. He says the pulled chicken was okay but the fries were burnt. I had the pulled pork sandwich with a side of coleslaw. The bun to my sandwich was Grilled so much the bottom was hard. The pulled pork was ehh but the sweet and Smokey sauce was okay. We shared a side of mac & cheese that was bad. The cheese was chunky and gross, and my husband said there was “no seasoning to be found – not even salt.” Additionally, the tables, booths, and chairs were run down. There were political signs in the bathroom and on the entry doors. We will not be back.

Stopped in here on our way to ftwayne and good golly is it absolutely delicious! Big portions, BIG bang for your buck. Don’t change anything! BBQ sauce was fire, meat is tender and super juicy, the soda machine was even well maintained. We will be back ASAP!

When I’m visiting home, Yergys is one of my top food stops I have to visit. Matt and his team make exceptional BBQ and living in South Carolina, I can attest their BBQ could easily compete with Carolina BBQ. We always get a few pounds of pulled pork, smoked brisket, and this time we tried their new loaded waffle fries with burnt ends. OH MY they were a huge family hit and disappeared quickly.
I have to end my review with their amazing sugar cream pie. I missed it last time I was up so I was glad they had it in stock. I only ordered one slice but next time I’ll buy the whole pie. I’m not sure how it’s never been thought of, but the lovely young lady who served us said she made the pie herself using her grandmas recipe. The crust was a cinnamon graham cracker type and it was phenomenal and paired well with the pie itself. It made this Hoosier girl very happy!! Thank you Matt and team for always having phenomenal comfort food!!

Small Town food places can be hit or miss. Happy to say this was a big hit. Had the brisket sandwich, the smoked jalapeno poppers and sugar cream pie. It was everything I could have wished for.
