The food isn’t as good but me personally I still think it’s better than any other Chinese restaurant in town. I ate one time at that one that …

Tried this restaurant on New Year’s Day as most restaurants were closed. We love Asian food, so we took a chance, and we were glad we did! Love the Empress Chicken – very much recommended this menu. I have never tried this at any Chinese restaurant, so I can’t compare, but the chicken tasted so good with the sauce that came with it.
We also had pork dumplings, mongolian beef with onions, beef and vegetables, and shrimp Lo Mein. They all tasted way better than expected. The portions are bigger than most other Chinese restaurants that we have been to.
The decor inside the restaurant is interestingly colorful.. it has printed designs of weird looking masks that my kids were kind of scared.. however, overall, it was a good dining experience.

A favorite whenever I come back to visit Indy. It’s changed a bit over the years, but has retained the family-owned, welcoming vibe that I miss about it when I’m out of town. Will always enjoy coming here with my dad to enjoy the hot tea, soup, and lunch specials.

Ordered spring rolls, got egg rolls soaked in grease. Crab Rangoon hard and brown and inedible. We threw everything away.

Ordered shrimp fried rice and crab rangoon and what I got was dry white rice with a different assortment of shrimp….plain ol white rice. Now they were busy with people coming in for take out which I was getting take out as well, I called in to place my order and was told 20 mins. I get there and the guy said “have a seat” and motioned for me to sit down. It was about 20-25 mins wait which I’m completely fine with. What I’m not fine with was paying almost 30 bucks for something I didn’t ask for nor for fried to the max crab rangoon. I’ve ate here before years ago dining in and have ordered take out twice since dining in and got what I paid and asked for. I can honestly say that I will not eat here again, carry out or dine in. And nor do I recommend this place.

Went here for lunch after surgery and didn’t realize that they closed at 2 o’clock nor was I told that they closed at 2 o’clock and re-opened so I ordered my food and of course I just had surgery so I’m moving slow eating slow still trying to wake up from Just having anesthesia,I ordered soup and a Poopoo platter. Before the food got to the table I got a phone call in the middle of my lunch and answer my phone call next thing you know I’m trying to hop off the phone call super fast because they are telling us that they’re leaving! I had no idea they were leaving they literally turned the lights off on us I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone at all Super super rude and on top of it they are outrageously priced. Their lunch is $12 and up. Really miss the one that used to be out by the pyramids they have exceptional customer service and they were always friendly they remembered your names too bad they’re gone don’t waste your time here! Anja VETOES!

Elated to learn they have reopened… after a remodel! Just happened to be driving by and noticed new signage, did a high-speed bat-turn so I could check it out… My new binge Thursday or Friday even! Had a gr8 meal and look forward to many more.
I discovered Yen Chings in 1987, and have been a steady customer at this location and the north East side which is now closed:-( there are many Asian restaurants in Indy there is only one Yen Ching. Worth the trip from anywhere in the metro area. Unparalleled reproduction of Chinese cuisine and comfort food. Both my boys were raised on their beef and broccoli, if you can find a better beef and broccoli dish let me know… Mandarin Style, Rich sauces and great service 🙂 family operated 🙂 will be back and back and back 🙂 🙂

I love well made potstickers.Always get them here as they are good. They have changed their way of serving you the sauce to go with them. Use to be you had soy sauce, spicy oil and vinegar and you mixed your own the way you like it. My wife does like heat as much as I do. Instead they bring a bowl already mixed sauce. I also like a lot of sauce and since we ordered 2 orders we got 2 bowls of sauce. My wife did not want hers so I took it. That was just enough for me with my one order. We also got the string beans which were good but spicier than they use to be. We could not finish them there as mouths got too hot. We took some home. Over all it was good and friendly. Will go again.

My friend and I ate at Yen Ching August 15, 2024. I was much nicer, cleaner, and staffed better tgan we expected. Our server was so sweet, and checked on us often. The food was prepared to perfection.
One true surprise was a robot that brought our foid to the table, the server was right there to place it on our table.
Can’t wait to go again !!

Princess Chicken was fantastic and Sweet and Sour Chicken was very good too. Potstickers were very yummy. Sodas seemed a bit watered down, but perfectly fizzy. Crab Rangoon was just ok – no visible crab and bland.
Service was great! The manager was very nice and the guy who delivered our food and drinks was prompt. We’ll definitely be back
