Stopped in for a morning croissant and a cup of tea. Nothing better. Croissant was delicious and authentic texture, taste, and bake. Took away a beef, chicken, and vegetable empanada for dinner later. A quick reheat in a 325 degree oven for 10 minutes made for a wonderful dinner. All three were delicious but if I had to pick a single favorite I honestly can’t. All three were different but very good in their own unique way. Homemade salsa accented the empanadas perfectly.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I bought a big box… give half to son… take rest home. Croissants are spectacular!!! If you’ve read any of my other bakery reviews… I’m a little obsessed with a bakery that makes absolutely amazing pastries… and this checked all the boxes. Very cute Inside too. I also tried an empanada… very very nice. Will visit again.

Stopped by Friday around 1pm after a long hike and honestly really glad I did. I’ve never been totally satisfied with the other “coffee” spots in Yellow Springs so figured I’d give this place a shot.
When I walked in I was the only one there. The young lady at the counter was super friendly and helpful. They didn’t have espresso but they did have drip coffee so I settled for that.
The vibe is honestly what this town needs more of well lit, quiet and actually comfortable enough to sit for a while. Ended up staying about 45 minutes with my drip coffee and a bacon quiche. Both were 10/10 and the price was very reasonable. You can tell they care about what they’re putting out.
It picked up closer to 2 which makes sense. I got to talk to one of the one of the owners for a bit (really friendly guy). Mentioned it’d be great if they added espresso at some point and he said they’ve been thinking about it. I said if they do, I’ll give up attempting to go anywhere else for coffee around here. Since the current options in the town are not good.
Truly happy I stumbled upon this place. The pastries look amazing too and I can already tell it’s somewhere I could sit quietly, read, or just hang out for a while.
The only downside is that there are NO outlets in the lobby if you need to work on a laptop or charge anything. Not a dealbreaker though..probably better that way to stay more present and just quite the mind anyways.
Definitely recommend checking it out over any other place in town.

The bakery is exactly what this town needed! I’m obsessed with all their baked goods. The croissants and empanadas are seriously my favorites. It’s so awesome to finally have a great spot for treats. I’m definitely coming back here all the time.

I love the new space with the accent of yellow. It’s a fun modern cafe vibe inside with an awesome laser cut backlit sign that gives the space an almost retro feel. They are serving up the same treats both savory and sweet as always. We came for the opening and it was packed! The cinnamon rolls are massive and delicious and I can’t wait to try all of their immaculately looking empanadas. Congrats on the brick and mortar opening!

I walked into this bakery looking for croissant and left with gold. The croissants light and flaky the empanadas are some of the best empanadas I’ve ever had. And let’s not talk about the salsa. The salsa. Oh my God. It almost felt religious eating that. And then I got another pastry that was a mushroom and swiss and I barely touched it and it was so flaky felt like the hands of God rolled this dough. Thank you guys for giving me a religious experience at a bakery I’m suggesting this place to everybody!!!!! I will definitely be back in the near future. And by near I mean maybe tomorrow if you guys are open.

I’d heard about the amazing cinnamon buns. In fact, I’ve seen a picture of one posted online. However, I did not know where it came from. In between asking people, making my way to yellow Springs and and finally actually just stopping people on the streets. I was able to determine that they came from yellow Springs, bakery and Café.
I finally was able to find a parking spot. It’s a very busy part of town made my way into the bakery. It was excited to see these humongous cinnamon rolls.
Due to an incident that happened while I was there, I almost didn’t get to sample those cinnamon buns while I was there for that visit. but the owner was there and accommodated me and I not only was able to get one of these delicious cinnamon buns I was also being able to get a chocolate croissant. Which interestingly enough I was just reading about in a book.
The next test was did it taste as good as it looked. because of my schedule I had to take it with me and try to eat this delicious humongous cinnamon, as I drove. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of my hands on my steering wheel by the end of the time the Cinnabon found it forever home in my stomach. My face, my hands, my shirt, or all a mess. But I certainly was satisfied.
later day, I was able to eat the croissant and while not a Cinnabon it was delicious white and fluffy with a thick roll of chocolate holding it down. It was wonderful.
During my experience, I was told there was delicious empanadas here I will soon return for that delightful experience.

Out for a walk and adventure this morning and made our way over to the bakery. This little spot is well off the beaten path but is so worth the trip! We arrived placed our order. The empanadas were baked to order, and the other items were from the baking racks. We had 2 empanadas, 2 cinnamon rolls, and 2 croissants, 1 regular and 1 chocolate. We got our order and made our walk back to the local hotel. Our family tore in to the goods and they simply were amazing. Everything was the best version of those items that we have ever eaten!!!! I also noticed that the Baker does custom cakes. If their cakes are half as amazing as baked goods the baked goods these folks are true artists!!!
We will visit them again before our trip is over!

YS Bakery is a wonderful addition to the food and coffee options in Yellow Springs. Croissants are light and fluffy – the best in town. Located just off the bike trial. Open Thursday thru Sunday – check web page for hours.

What a wonderful cafe! Baked goods, sweet and savory. I was looking for lunch and the empanadas did not disappoint. I had one chicken (with chipotle – just the right spice) and a vegetarian with all sorts of yummy roasted veggies and cheese. Delicious! Will have to return for more before I head home.
