Yello Waffle in Okemos, Michigan is a gem, especially if you appreciate waffles the way they’re meant to be done. I lived in Brussels for a couple of years, and one of the absolute highlights of that time was grabbing Liège waffles from street trucks—warm, caramelized, rich, and unforgettable. Yello Waffle’s Liège waffle comes impressively close to that experience. It’s flavorful, perfectly textured, and clearly made with care. If you’ve never had a true Belgian-style waffle, this is about as authentic as it gets without hopping on a plane.
Their Brussels waffle is also excellent, it’s light, airy, and balanced, making it easy to see that they really understand the difference between the two styles and execute both well. Beyond the food, the morning vibe is fantastic. It feels like a relaxed, cozy coffee shop where you actually want to sit, enjoy your breakfast, and ease into the day. The staff is friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall warmth of the place.
All around, Yello Waffle is a great breakfast spot and an especially nice way to start a slow Sunday morning. Quality food, good energy, and a place that genuinely feels good to be in.

I’ve been to Yello Waffle twice, the waffles are REALLY good. The eggs and bacon were cooked perfectly and the matcha ice cream is fantastic! Owner always makes sure customers are happy and comes out to talk. Definitely try a Brussels waffle in house!
Update: if you get the eggs and bacon I highly recommend the upgrade to cook in chili oil for a nice spicy note! Love the expanding options at this growing business!

Stopped in to treat a friend and loved the waffles I got the waffle that had arugula avocado and egg it was delicious! I appreciated the portion size! Enough but not too much! Our first time here and we’ll be back often! Had the egg and bacon waffle, which was great. Perfectly-cooked bacon and it actually looks like their photos. Next time I’ll order two, since the bistro waffles come on the smaller round waffle. Eager to try the rectangular waffle in the future. Also, the brewed coffee was surprisingly good. Not weak and not burnt.

I wanted to love this place so bad because Okemos is lacking in good food options. We ordered two small round waffles and they were cold and hard to break even with the fork and knife. We were not offered to have them warmed up.
The Brussels waffles are made to order but they are over priced. Their young son was at the register and did a great job answering questions but the mom working in the back making the food was a bit upset when we I told her that I ordered the larger waffle but she prepared the smaller one. Mom was mad that she had already made the waffle and I was asking for a different size. They could have easily said we will just make you the bigger one because their son at the register didn’t clarify which waffle (round or rectangular) we wanted. I also pointed instead of using words so it’s partially my fault. But as a 1st time customer after ordering almost $60 worth of items from them they could have just said it’s fine for the $4. Especially considering how cheap and easy to waffles are to make.
Do not try the tiramisu waffle the mascarpone cheese is sour and it is not a pleasant waffle to eat. AVOID TIRAMISU waffle is gross

Yellow waffle has been our go-to cozy breakfast place on some of our Saturdays. The minimalistic design and functional space make it perfect and easy for families and kids. They have a small table and cart full of toys for kids to play and engage themselves while you enjoy your food. The service and atmosphere here always gives me that November “Gilmore Girls” vibe. I enjoy sipping a warm cup of coffee while watching my 5 year old play and sometimes making new friends along the way.
My child loves their whip cream, by far the best I have ever tasted, fresh and light. Waffles are crisp and made fresh to order As for flavors, there is something for everyone depending on your preference and taste depends on ones preference.

The staff here was very welcoming, explained the menu, super polite and helpful.
The food was excellent. We spent alot cause we had to try like 5 different things but it was all delicious and beautiful.
I appreciated that they used biodegradable items, cardboard plates, paper straws, wooden to go utensils.
The decor was cute but the chairs were pretty uncomfortable. If you have some junk in the trunk it’s gonna be a tight squeeze.

Randomly finding this place was a literal gift. I’m obsessed and super picky about my waffles. Hands down the BEST place to get waffles. My kids are now also obsessed. They are the nicest people. Especially for first time customers. They are patient and very helpful and super kind. If you’re looking for a cute, homey place with amazing, tasty and a place with a variety of waffle options, Yello Waffles is the place for you! My favorite is the Brussels strawberries and cream. But my oldest loves the savory eggs and bacon.
