Best of the Best!
This was honestly one of the best dining experiences I had in Knoxville! We ordered the slow-roasted prime rib and the steak burger with mushrooms and baked potatoes, and everything was perfect. The prime rib was phenomenal, tender and full of flavor, clearly made from a high-quality, hand-cut piece of meat. The steak burger was also excellent, cooked just right and packed with flavor.
The cozy, rustic atmosphere inside the beautiful log-style building made the whole experience even better. From the warm service to the incredible food, everything was top-notch. Definitely “Best of the Best”, a must-visit spot for any steak lover!

Best steak in East TN!! Our steaks were seasoned just right and cooked perfectly. The woodshed potatoes are a must, absolutely delicious! We were seated right away, our server was attentive and super nice, we loved the rustic atmosphere. We will definitely be back.

Went right at opening on a weekday. Split the 20oz prime rib with extra sides. Delicious. Note they don’t have a liquor license but they will serve your alcohol, and they do have a nice selection of beer.

Ye Olde Steak House is a landmark restaurant in Knoxville serving some of the best steaks and side dishes I ever eaten. The Woodshed Potatoes are just fried potatoes with onions but they are so good and their broccoli casserole is delicious. I was too full after dinner to try any of their famous handmade desserts but they all sounded amazing. Next time I go, I may start with the dessert!!!

I have been coming to this restaurant for 20+ years and the experience that I got this past weekend was probably the worst I’ve ever had there… These steaks were very chewy, the shrimp felt like it had been sitting in grease for several days… The only thing made it worthwhile was the memories, atmosphere and great service. I will be back but I have to be honest this was the most disappointing time I’ve ever had there they’ve made too many changes and they need to go back

Outstanding! Had read about this hidden gem somewhere within the past year. Now, the daughter lives just a few miles down the road. Guess where we’ll be every time I visit. And our server was a true pro. Knowledgeable, engaging, and present without being intrusive.

This place has been on my bucket list for years and finally got to visit this past weekend. Really enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back. Checking in lady was not the friendliest person I have ever encountered but our waitress was awesome. She told us what the favorite and popular food were and made several recommendations. I had the ribeye with home cut fries was perfectly cooked and very tasty. Wife had the kabobs and they were also very good. Will definitely visit again.

Local steak house with great food! We enjoyed the service, the appetizers, the STEAK and sides and the desserts. Friendly, prompt service and perfectly cooked steaks! Only lost a star because we didn’t know it’s BYOB so we missed pairing with a great red wine and wished that info was better advertised online so we could have brought a bottle for the table. Otherwise, loved it and will come back !

This evening I visited Ye Olde Steak House on Chapman Highway. From the moment I walked in, it felt like stepping into an old cabin, complete with rustic charm. I was greeted by a friendly hostess who promptly seated me, and not long after, my server brought a menu along with their signature cheddar cheese spread and crackers.
I initially considered the 16 oz ribeye but decided on the 16 oz prime rib after asking my server about it. I paired it with a small side salad with blue cheese and an order of buttered button mushrooms. The salad arrived first and was fresh and crisp, with a dressing that tasted homemade.
When the prime rib came out, it was cooked perfectly medium rare—tender, flavorful, and easily one of the best I’ve had in the past year. The portion was large (I probably should have gone with the 12 oz), but I enjoyed every bite I could manage. The mushrooms were a nice addition and complemented the meal well.
The photos show the fresh salad and the generous cut of prime rib with the mushrooms on the side. Everything came out hot, seasoned well, and clearly prepared with care.
Service throughout the evening was excellent. My server was friendly, attentive, and made the visit enjoyable. I’m glad I took the drive out of downtown Knoxville to try this spot. Ye Olde Steak House truly feels like a local gem, and I’ll gladly return the next time I’m in the area.

Classic old time feel steak house. My husband had the Ribeye. . He loved it . It was cooked as he wanted and had a great flavor. I had the prime rib. It was very good but I would probably get the ribeye next time. It was just really tasty! We started off with the cheese sticks. They were good. Not the best I have ever had but good. Our server Dale was really attentive and super nice.
