This was our first time here and I can say hands down the best Japanese BBQ place we have been to. Jonathan was an amazing server and really made us feel welcomed, great sense of humor along with amazing service really makes the experience THAT much better. The Wagyu was phenomenal to say the LEAST. Everything we had was worth it compared to other places. Good quality Wagyu paired with great seasoning and amazing sauces to try out. I’m not an LA local but this place is definitely on my list of returning restaurants any time I am in LA.

Decent yakiniku place, the tongue was very good just overly salty for my taste.

Karubi was nice too and the kurobuta was good (forgot to take pic)

Not much to complaint about, just simple and good yakiniku no frills.

We recently had dinner at a Japanese yakiniku restaurant, and the entire evening felt truly special. From the moment we stepped in, the ambiance was sophisticated and elegant, creating the perfect atmosphere for a refined dining experience. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of both the food and service made it absolutely worthwhile. The meat was exceptional—tender, flavorful, and of a standard completely comparable to yakiniku in Japan.

The service was attentive and polished. The staff were courteous, refilled drinks promptly, and offered us the choice of grilling the meat ourselves or having it prepared for us. We chose to have the staff handle the grilling, and their careful preparation allowed us to sit back, relax, and savor each dish slowly, which added to the sense of luxury.

Beyond the grilled meat, the menu included a variety of creative dishes such as beef nigiri, yukhoe, and a beautifully arranged kimchi sampler the yam kimchi was especially memorable. The cold noodles were refreshing, and even the rice was impressive, cooked to a perfect chewy texture that showed real attention to detail.

The interior was stylish, modern, and clearly designed with an upscale clientele in mind. Although we dined with children, the overall atmosphere leaned strongly toward adults, making it ideal for dates, anniversaries, or other special occasions. One unexpected highlight was the restroom it featured a Japanese-style toilet, spotless and refined, which left a lasting impression.

Overall, this restaurant offers not just a meal but a complete dining experience. It is a place where excellent food, thoughtful service, and an elegant atmosphere come together. I would highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a sophisticated night out or to celebrate a special day.

Always wanted to try Yazawa wagyu since forever… Finally decided to get it for our 12th anniversary and birthdays dinner. We got the A5 Wagyu Assorted Bento (added Tongue & Harami), Kalbi Bento, Garlic rice, Udon, OX Tail soup and salad, total come up to be $197. It is quite expensive, especially when the portions are not that big. The wagyu are superb, grilled to perfection. It doesn’t really melt in your mouth, however, the taste is really delicious. The only regret I have would be the ox tail soup and salad. The soup is bland and hardly any meat, it is definitely a rip off. The salad is great, but for $13, i think it is a little too much. Will I dine there again? Probably for special occasions only.

Very expensive, but you are getting what you are paying for.

It’s definitely not a meal you would do frequently, but for those times you feel like treating yourself this place has got to be up there.

The staff is so nice and attentive, and the food was absolutely delicious. I went to Tokyo 5 years ago, and from what I remember this place matches what you’d expect from a high end Japanese BBQ over there.

I look forward to coming back.

We were visiting from out of state and were so excited to try the omakase wagyu!! We made reservations at 5 and were the first people in the restaurant on a Saturday so we were served pretty quick.
The service and the quality of meat was absolutely incredible! I was satisfied with every bite of meat I had 🙂 Our server graciously cooked our meat for us as we would have burned it lol, but he always put on a good show every time.
SOO much meat was served for us only ordering the cheapest omakase option. (still quite expensive but definitely worth it!)
We’re so happy with our first time visit, I’m looking forward to returning when I’m back in LA!!

PROS:
– Excellent service (our server was pleasant and grilled all of our meat)
– Excellent food (wagyu was fresh and juicy, grilled vegetables were perfectly cooked and sweet)
– Overall ambiance of the restaurant was great
CONS:
– The entrance (door) to this restaurant is a bit hard to find
– The omakases do not come with rice, vegetables, or desserts. It is primarily only meat

Would I come here again? YES

It was our first experience, meat was amazing melt in your mouth A5 wagyu. Our waiter Mathew was excellent as well, guided us through the menu and selections, as it was our first time. We’ll be back again, but next time we need an inside table, the outside dining was loud, busy street.
