What better way to enjoy a rainy day in Georgia than stopping by Yay Beignets for an Ethiopian coffee ceremony and some incredible beignets! The people here are beautiful and welcoming, and the coffee ceremony was absolutely amazing—some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. We had to order a dozen beignets “just in case” the rain continued, and the bourbon glaze was a total hit. That dozen didn’t last long! Coffee, beignets, and awesome people—highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a warm, delicious, and memorable experience.

Adorable little shop! They recently changed locations, I like this one. Has a very inviting little seating area outdoors. Has a cute ice-cream stand (seperate business) in the same location. Lovely Ethiopian coffee, great beignets, and they sell king cake for Mardi Gras. Good customer service too❣️✨️.
$3 for coffee, and $18 for a dozen beignets with your choice of dipping sauces ❣.

A “hidden gem” in a repurposed mechanic garage!
This spot has a unique, soulful vibe—it’s shared by Yay Beignets and Jake’s Ice Cream and The Cooking Class. The beignets are made to order, and while they aren’t “fast food,” they are absolutely worth the wait. The Bourbon Praline was a gourmet complement to pastries-my family finished them before I could even get the camera out!
The Details:
• Seating: Limited (3–4 tables indoors) with several picnic tables and small round tables outside.
• Extras: They also serve coffee and share the building with Jake’s Ice Cream.

Yay Beignets is an absolute gem! The beignets are fresh, hot, and perfectly fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness—crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The strawberry dipping sauce takes them to the next level —sweet, creamy, and the perfect complement to the warm beignets. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the vibes are great whether you’re grabbing a quick treat or hanging out for a bit. If you’re craving a New Orleans–style indulgence, this spot is a must-visit. We will definitely be back!

Ethiopian coffee was smooth and delicious. My partner had the Ethiopian tea and he said it was amazing. Beignets were made fresh to order. The dipping sauces of dark chocolate and praline caramel are a must! Definitely the best in ATL ❤️

George, his wife and the staff are great! They host a traditional Ethiopian coffee service each Saturday at 11am free to anyone who shows up. He invited me the first time I stopped by to try his Ethiopian coffee. The smell of fresh roasted beans and Ethiopian incense fills their shop, making my mouth water for the well balanced coffee being prepared. Toasted barley and popcorn bring authenticity to the experience.

I highly recommend this if you’re around Hapeville, perhaps working with Delta Air Lines or live in the area!

I came here on a rainy day and it was the coziest coffee shop I could have picked! There was light jazz in the background, warm lights that feel like home and the delicious smell of beignets baking in the oven. I actually only came in for a coffee and to get some work done (yes they have wifi!!!) but I had to try a beignet after seeing how fresh they looked. The barista was so kind and offered me one to try and I ended up getting 3 more because it was SO fluffy, soft and perfectly sweet. Highly recommend this spot, it’s such a gem and just full of good energy ❤️

PS I do not say this lightly — don’t sleep on the caramel sauce!! Definitely worth getting it on the side.

Warm fluffy and delicious beignets with choice of several toppings. On Saturdays at 11:00 there is an Ethiopian cultural demonstration of slow roasting & and serving their coffee. Wonderful 1st visit!

My wife and I had a taste for beignets and Yay came up in several different searches.
We decided to give them a try since we’ve never had Ethiopian coffee which was a featured item.
I have had beignets in New Orleans from the famous establishments and in my opinion, these are some of the best beignets I’ve ever had.
We ordered an assortment of; plain-no powder confection sugar, glazed, and traditional powder confection.
We first tasted the plain beignets with no confection sugar. They were so delicious light and fluffy, we did not need any dipping sauce.
The glaze and powder confection only added to the delicious delight.
Let me say the glaze enhanced the beignets flavor without tasting like glazed donuts. The traditional powder confection beignets totally satisfied our cravings.
We also tried the bourbon praline dip and it was a complimentary delight.
The Ethiopian coffee was also very good non acidic and smooth.
We were served by the owners who were very pleasant and inviting.

I highly recommend giving them a try when in the mood for some good coffee and treats.

Great little place we found totally by accident – a happy little accident! Coffee so good I didn’t need flavor shots (though they have them) or sugar, especially not with the delicious beignets piping hot and fresh. These are not mere air bubbles with powdered sugar, they have heft and are bigger than a Krystal burger! Well priced for the size and quality! Would definitely go back if in the area. Outdoor seating is charming but limited, it’s a small space.
