We were walking through the Don Don Donki market and decided to grab a quick bite after we were done with our shopping. There were many options but this little onigiri stand stood out to us. The had varieties of onigiri, you can see the worker making the right in front of you, and most importantly, you could actually smell the fresh rice that was being made and prepared into these tasty snacks. They even offered their rice for sale by the bag!

The menu was available to us, but we didn’t need to order from the worker, but rather grab the assortment available on the counter and then we paid by checking out our groceries. Don’t forget your nori to wrap your onigiri too!

Not only was the rice perfectly cooked, but the fillings were super flavorful, full, and definitely complemented the perfect rice as well. Honestly the best onigiri I’ve ever had. The tuna and mayo (Japanese favorite) was the best for sure. The mayo to tuna ratio was perfect, and the tuna, you can tell, is not the canned American tuna, but rather cooked fresh tuna. I feel like they use the kewpie mayo as well, as it didn’t have the oily texture and taste like American mayo does.

The ume onigiri was delicious too! The ume was deliciously pickled and salty and the furikake surrounding it added to its texture and flavor profile as well. The konbu one, being the best selling in Hawaii; was a little bit too salty for my taste, but nevertheless was still a delicious choice.

Overall a great location and perfect snack/lunch for a quick pit stop or end if your shopping experience. Will definitely be back.
