Having grown up in Detroit, where Greektown set the standard and we were frequent visitors, let’s just say… we are picky about our Greek food. So I walked in with high expectations.
Landa, the owner, graciously hosted me to experience their menu, and from the very first bite, I felt transported straight to Greece.
She brought out a beautiful tzatziki spread that was fresh, creamy, and perfectly balanced — the kind that makes you pause and savor. I need to try more of the spreads on my next visit. And the dolmas with lemon sauce? Oh my goodness. Bright, tender, and bursting with flavor. The kaftas were seasoned to perfection, and the chicken skewers must have been marinated in some kind of heavenly blend — juicy, flavorful, and unforgettable.
And the Greek salad… easily one of the most delicious Greek dressings I have ever tasted. Bold, fresh, and authentic.
To wrap it all up, I enjoyed a piece of baklava that arrived like a piece of art on a plate — flaky, golden, layered beautifully — paired with a traditional Greek coffee that completed the experience perfectly.
In person, everything looks (and tastes!) even better than the photos.
I was so impressed that I’ll be sharing this gem with my personal Facebook community in the Town of Davidson. If you’re planning a day in Charlotte, I highly recommend ending it with dinner here. It may very well be one of the most delicious culinary experiences you’ve had in a long time.
Happy Exploring!

We had the most incredible dining experience at Yassou Greek last night and can’t stop thinking about the food! If you’re a fan of authentic Greek cuisine, you absolutely must visit.
We were welcomed and table was ready within 2 minutes; chef was very professional and patiently gave us an overview and their specials that night.
The standout Stuffed Peppers were phenomenal. The peppers themselves were perfectly tender, vibrant, and packed with a robust, aromatic mixture of seasoned rice and herbs—truly a symphony of flavors in every bite. They struck the perfect balance of savory and satisfying.
I also tried Salmon Dish, and it was cooked to absolute perfection. The fish was incredibly fresh, moist, and so tasty. It was seasoned masterfully with simple lemon, olive oil, and herbs, allowing the quality of the salmon to shine through. It came paired with delicious, traditional sides that complemented the dish perfectly.
The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was top-notch—attentive without being intrusive.
Yassou delivers an authentic taste of Greece that is both comforting and elevated. I highly recommend both the stuffed peppers and the salmon and look forward trying their other dishes and appetizers! I will definitely be back soon and highly recommending this place.
Both owners Landa and Maria were there, and understood Lydia’s Allergies..both are involved with the dishes and Maria is also a cook…
They sat with us and heard and reccomanded how they can prepare dishes for Lydia and still maintain that beautiful Greek Cuisine and flavors.
Most places would have just eliminated ingredients she was allergic to, but her and especially Dolce, they were creative to add and substitute to make this a fabulous meal for Lydia.
Landa offered a glass of wine to pair with my meal, at first I said it was not necessary, but realized, you can’t argue with a Greekz, Italian or actually any woman and win, so I said yes thank you.
She suggested Sabanis Limniona.
Its a red wine from Greece made from the Limniona grape, a native variety from the Thessaly region. It is a medium-bodied wine with vibrant acidity, featuring flavors of red berries, spices, and earthy notes. The wine is known for its firm tannins and ageability, making it a good pairing for rich red meats like lamb or beef.
So smooth, even Lydia who doesn’t drink, enjoyed.
We started for Lydia:
●Greek Salad, Romaine lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, olives, crumbled feta,( Which like a really authentic restaurant, orders special, as their olive oil) and vinegar.
For me:
●Imam Baildi, Baby eggplant, tomato, red onion, parsley, mint, pine nuts, raisins and feta. OMG delicious and I love eggplant and this was a Greek twist.
Now the main meal and the real challenge for them for Lydia
●Lavraki, One whole Branzino, with creative spices to maintain the Greek flavors but with Allergies in mind served with mixed vegetables.
To please Lydia with fish and vegetables with so much flavor and still keep her allergies in check was such a treat.
For me:
●Arni Giouvetsi, Oven-braised domestic lamb shank, on the bone served over orzo in nature juices
I had tasted this at our Members Lunch and liked it and here it was outrageously delicious and perfectly paired with wine.
●Affogato to close the meal as always.
Note: they make their own bread and it so delicious
