Stopped by Yaquis for a quick bite to eat, ordered the Taco Salad w/chicken… delicious! The spicy salsa on the side gave it an extra kick! Also recommend ordering Momma Tina’s Tea to compliment your meal (non alcoholic)
Thoroughly enjoyed my lunch 🙂

There’s a sign on the door that says they open at 12 noon. Their website says they open at 12 noon. We’re standing here. It’s way after 12 noon knocking on the door no response. Waste of time. Go somewhere else.

I am new to the area and I took a chance on this place because of the reviews. I’m not sure why it has such high marks. Initially, I was ignored by the two waitresses at the bar. It took for the owner to point out to them that I had been waiting for some service. One of the waitresses finally took my order and was short with me and slow with the service. These type of establishments seem to only cater to their regulars. I ordered the gorditas… they obviously don’t know what that is. Management needs to train and provide better customer service. Taking my business elsewhere. And they expect 18-20% gratuity? No thanks!

My wife and I stopped in here a few weeks ago for a quick bite while we were in town to have a few of our dogs groomed in the area. What a great find. The atmosphere was friendly, and the bartender was the only one there, and told us that the wait for food may be a bit longer due to this. This was not so, as he did such a great job making our quesadillas, while still tending to his bar, and our food arrived faster than most “fast” food places. He also talked my wife (a wine enthusiast with a gin martini preference on occasion) into a margarita. She was very impressed, and when I ordered an alcohol free beer, he turned me on to the NA Heineken (who knew?) which was also awesome.
On a quick note, when we left, we took some of our leftovers and what was left of a container of sour cream, only to notice when we arrived home (1.5 hours away – yes we love our groomer this much!) that the container was not a to-go cup, but an actual dish from the establishment, oops! Luckily we had another appointment the following week for another one of our dogs, so we stopped in and admitted our theft. Their appreciative response to our return of the “stolen” property was genuinely the best reaction with teasing and humor. I highly recommend this venue if you want a good drink or great Mexican cuisine, and if you visit on a day that we have dog grooming, you will likely find us there!

I recently went to Yaquis Cantina for my graduation dinner, and it was a pretty awful experience. We got there around 7:00 PM, but our food took two hours to come out. It was obvious they were super understaffed, which seemed like a management issue. They had about 2-3 people working on a very busy Saturday night which seemed odd. Between the bar and food the staff was spread thin. As a small business owner I always support other small businesses so I still gave it a shot.
The staff were really nice and tried their best to attend to everyone but it was clearly very hard. By the time we left at 9:00 PM, we still hadn’t gotten all our food. I think the place could be great if the owner hired more people and helped out the staff. Until that happens, I wouldn’t recommend it.
