This place was truly delicious!! We had tried another restaurant and it was horrible and way overpriced. This place on the other hand, mil respetos. 🙂 The service provided was amazing. The cook makes you wanna steal his recipes!! The ppl here really know customer service! Amazing family, amazing restaurant.
My tacos de lengua were STUFFED!! I could only 2! Haha.
My husband’s chilaquiles were to die for. I don’t particularly like red chile but the chilaquiles were very delicious and spicy. So beware. What I liked about the red chile is that you could taste the homemade part to it. The love and hard work that went into it. :,)
The burrito de chorizo was a big boy!! Haha my son loved it!! Then again, it did looked good. I didn’t get to try it bc I don’t eat pork.
We also grabbed sopes but didn’t take pics of those bc my daughter asked for them very plain. Haha just meat, beans, and cheese. Only bad thing is that they use Parmesan cheese. Other than that, the meat in all out food was fresh. With some other places, you can tell they use old meat by the taste of it. Not this place!
We also asked for smoothies, the milk smoothies are a bit too thick for my liking but mine, I asked to be made with water, was very smooth.
In all, I can’t wait to come back and try more of their dishes. They were very friendly and made you feel at home.

Best place I’ve been to in Scranton!! The price is definitely worth it!!! They serve you A LOT! So just have that in mind. It’d be best if you have someone to share.
The chilaquiles ARE spicy so beware. But man, they are good! The chicken and meat are absolutely perfect. Other places give you old meat where you can taste it has been sitting for a while. Not Yankee Taqueria. The eggs were fried to perfection.
The muffin and bagel were toasted so beautifully. I’ll try their technique when I get home.
The Cecina in the platter was very juicy and tender. Rice was very fluffy.
The burrito, I could barely finish half. IT IS STUFFED!! But as it is fat, it’s delightful. Again, their meat tastes very good and fresh. I wish I had known of this place before. I’d definitely visit this place evert time I come to Scranton!

I love this place, I just got a bacon burger with fries from here, and it’s delicious. I know most of the food is Mexicano, but I love being able to come down here to get a cheeseburger and fries. The girl at the counter was very friendly as well.

The place is small, no A/C. No customer service. I walked into the place today 07/07/2024, I wanted to try some Mexican Tacos. I was greeted by a Lady with the most unpleasant face a person can have. It looked like she was very upset that we interrupt her lunch time, she was eating some food with her daughter, on the same counter top that customers get served. I had a service dog with me; the lady across the counter kept making faces of disgust at my dog. This same lady looked like she had not seen a bathtub for a couple of days, hair in disarray, dirty apron, dirty mouth, and again, that disgusted face, nodding her head from side to side while looking at my SERVICE DOG; we have a well groom and educated service Shih Tzu. The same lady did not have the decency to ask weather or not my dog was a service dog, she just kept nodding her head from side to side, literally kicking us out. We got the massage; my wife and I exit the place and walked across the street. You need to work on your customer service skills, and your AC. You have none. I bet the food is just has good.

Some of the best tacos in Scranton I just moved down here and my family came to visit me for nc and were craving some tacos and yankee taqueria came in handy the red sauce was by far the best hot sauce everything was delicious and I FOR SURE recommend it to everyone to come try their tacos

Like another reviewer mentioned, I decided to try this place because it has high reviews -4.8 stars at the time of writing. The portions were generous and the service was fine. My son liked his chicken quesadilla and we all liked the rice and beans. The green sauce on the enchiladas was too spicy for me and my husband and the place itself is very run down. Definitely a hole in the wall… But with regular prices. I could probably recommend it for take out- just don’t get anything with sauce if you don’t like spicy food.

Slightly gritty and unassuming, but the best tacos al pastor I’ve had outside of Mexico City D.F. the marinade is nearly perfect, the pineapple flavor incorporated beautifully and not a dried out bite in the whole taco. The carnitas are also spectacular. Six stars for north of the border yumminess.

Very good breakfast experience. Friendly & attentive staff . My picky eaters loved the pancakes with fruit & fresh squeezed orange juice. Awesome, awesome, awesome. After moving away from Los Angeles a few years ago, didn’t think we would find similar quality tacos anywhere near Scranton, PA – well found that. I had the al pastor and beef tacos, while my wife had the burrito; everything was great. On top of that, love the vibe of the place and great service. Highly recommend!
