Sushi was fresh, it was super cool they had raw food out that you can pick and chef can cook it up right there for you! AND I love short ribs and I’ve never seen any places that offers them at a buffet.

Restaurant was clean and staff was super friendly, definitive recommended!

We visited on 2/22/26 for my son’s birthday with a group of 25, and it was everyone’s first time. We all loved it! The price is very affordable for all you can eat. The lady who helped our group was patient and friendly, which made the experience even better. There were so many food options to choose from. I personally loved the chicken on a stick, crab legs, crab rangoons, and hibachi.

My two recommendations would be to ensure all the food has labels. Even though some items were missing tags, the staff were very helpful in identifying any dishes we were unsure about.
Also to charge while people are coming in instead of leaving so that staff doesn’t have to keep checking to see who paid. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we will definitely be back!

This place has potential. As a chef and asian/sushi food business owner, I can say that the food is not bad but it’s not overwhelmingly great. A lot of the dishes has little to no flavor, like the fried shrimps and the chicken wings. The ribs are way too tough, the steak dishes are too chewy and the shrimp for the shrimp cocktail needs to be deveined because that’s disgusting. But I do love the fresh sushi and the vast offerings of protein dishes. My favorite is the black pepper chicken and basically all the chicken dishes were great. But the seafood dishes need flavor. The price is fine for me. It’s a great place that just needs a few tweaks to be way better.

Overall, it was a good experience. It was an early afternoon weekday, so the food didn’t have as high of a turn over rate as I prefer. I think I will try this location again on a weekend so the overall experience is fresh, hot food

Very clean restaurant. Plenty of room and space for parties of any size. Very nice and attentive staff. Many options for food, lots of items that are not typically found on most buffets. Classic dishes need to be better, such as the tsos chicken, or chicken and mushroom, texture was mushy and lacked flavor. Sushi and soup was great. Roast duck was good, noodles, dumplings were good. Lots of good veggie options.

I love buffets, and this is hands down one of the best I’ve been to in about 5 years! Both in selection and in quality. The coconut shrimp blew every coconut shrimp I’ve ever had out of the water! Other particular highlights include the shu mai, the beef egg rolls, (the standard egg rolls are great too, but the beef was incredible) frog legs (which I haven’t been able to find lately & was excited to see) and the roast duck! (Just be aware of the bones) I didn’t even get to try the full selection because I kept coming back to those. But the staple items all looked/smelled fantastic.

Staff was friendly and always on top of drink refills! Whole place was nice & clean. 10/10 recommend and will be returning!

We had an absolutely amazing experience at Yami Grill Hibachi & Sushi! The food was incredible — everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. If you’re craving Chinese food, hibachi, or sushi, this is definitely the place to go because they truly do it all and do it well.

The restaurant itself was very clean with updated flooring and beautiful decor, which made the whole atmosphere feel modern and comfortable. Even the bathrooms were spotless and smelled fresh — which says a lot about how well the place is cared for.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, and they made us feel valued from the moment we walked in. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and freshness of the food you get. One of my favorite parts was being able to customize my sushi — such a huge win — and it was some of the freshest, best sushi I’ve had.

Highly recommend stopping in — we will absolutely be back!

Honestly, the best chinese buffet in town! The food is always very fresh and between having a Ramen bar, sushi bar (which I always see them making fresh daily), soup bar, Hibachi and your more traditional American chinese dishes, I would say they have the best variety of dishes out of any chinese buffet I’ve been to.

One of the things that I enjoy the most about Yami is the fact that some of their dishes change. For example, they always have some form of dim sum at the buffet, rather it be Siu Mai, various types of dumplings, steamed sticky rice, sesame balls with red bean past, to even having Longevity Peach buns a few times! It changes so it becomes part of the excitement when you visit. I find myself exvited as I ask myself “What Dim sum do they have today?”. They often do the same thing with some of their desert items which are always really good.

There’s just a few things they do differently that I’ve never seen any other Chinese buffet do that although is small, have a big impact. Not to mention, the service is very quick and friendly! I’ve never had to ask for a refill or to have plates removed because they’re already on top of it!

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed Fuji, which was the buffet that was there previously but Yami is quite an upgrade to what was there before and I’m just overall really excited to have a good quality chinese buffet by the Dayton Mall again. So, if I seem very passionate, like I’m trying to sell you something, it’s because I honestly love this place. You won’t see me review just anyone. I honestly only review on Google when I’m passionate, rather it’s good or bad, and in this case I love it!
