So my family and I went to dine in here due to the high rating of reviews. Sadly, we were all disappointed with the service (very busy and only one person running the register and taking table orders). The second strike was the horrible condition of the back of the restaurant were you head to the bathrooms, which is were we had been seated. Working in the food industry for many years, this made my stomach flop. As we waited for our food we grew more worried. The ceiling tiles were covered in black mold, paint peeling off the walls, the drink station just had Styrofoam cups(no lids or straws), the smoke from the grill tainted the other ceiling panels as it seem to have no proper ventilation. The food was amazing and that’s about the only complement I can give. It was hot, flavorful, and well portioned. The prices for what we ordered was almost $70 for 3 adults and 1 child (who didnt have a meal just some chicken) and I could not believe they charge so much and yet have such a poor atmosphere. Hopefully they can grow from this and continue to bring good but clean service with affordable pricing to this small town.

Food was decent, good prices. Not the greatest atmosphere inside,if you can, order and pick up! Seems to be what all the other customers were doing. No complaints from me!

One Star – Serious Concerns After Years of Loyalty

I originally gave Yamazato 4 out of 5 stars, noting that the food was good and reasonably priced—though a bit heavy on onions for my taste. However, I’ve since had to revise my review due to a recent experience that left me seriously ill. After eating here, I developed food poisoning symptoms, including vomiting and gastrointestinal issues that lasted several days.

What concerned me most was that the food tasted unusually salty—almost as if it had been over-seasoned to mask spoilage. This raises serious concerns about food safety and quality control. Whether intentional or not, it left the impression that food may have been served past its prime rather than properly discarded.

Adding to the frustration, prices have recently increased—despite no improvement in quality. My husband and I noticed the price hike happened shortly after the restaurant installed a new stove. While upgrades are understandable, it felt like the cost was simply passed on to customers without added value. For food that’s relatively simple and inexpensive by nature, the new pricing feels unjustified.

Unfortunately, after years of being loyal customers, my family and I will no longer be returning. The trust is gone, and the risk simply isn’t worth it.

It was quiet and plenty of available seating for our group of 10. We had the place to ourselves. 5 adults, 5 kids. It’s ok, nothing special. Pricey Japanese fast food.

There’s not a lot of places to eat in the area so this place is a figurative gold mine. Extremely friendly staff, simple no-frills dishes, and a cozy homey atmosphere. From the hand painted wall murals to the vintage television programming to the cute decor, the vibes are impeccable. I’ll be sure to pop back in whenever I’m in the area for delicious food and quiet comfort!

Great food, from the looks of the strip mall and the interior of the restaurant being so run down the wife and I after looking at the reviews deiceded to give this place a try and prayed not to get food poisoning, but the food was great, given the portions were small. With that said we will be back.
