The auntie and uncle that run this spot are true gems. I’ve been here numerous times and havent thought to review them. We decided to dine in the other night and we ordered several dishes, as well as 3 sushi rolls. For apps we got the crunchy salmon skin, inari (4 pieces), miso soup, geso karrage and green tea. Let’s start by saying, the service and atmosphere is always amazing here. Friendly, polite, and prompt staff. The salmon skin is one of our favorite apps, the geso is my boyfriends favorite, I’m not a huge fan of squid but I actually like this version of it. Miso soup is a easy staple. The inari was *good* our favorite was the seared salmon, and the king. We ordered two others but they were just kinda boring. Not bad, boring. As for the rest of the meal, our server accidentally served us the wrong three sushi rolls, but she of course said we could keep those and she brought us what we ordered! Top notch service. Our rolls were good, but again the seared salmon roll we got (Mr. Chen) was the best of the 3. We weren’t big fans of the 3 rolls we accidentally got, but nothing to hold against the restaurant as we didn’t order them lol. Last entree to talk about is the Beef Curry! Absolutely amazing flavor, huge protion, it was enough for 3. For dessert we ordered a strawberry taiyaki to share, but they accidentally brought us mochi. We were told to keep that while we waited for our taiyaki. Mochi was delicious, and so was the taiyaki. All in all, we ate too much, and basically rolled out of there. I’ll always recommend this spot! Also this time they were trying dimsum as the owners want to open a dimsum location in town as we dont have one yet. We tried the soup dumplings, they had phenomenal flavor, just wish it had a bit more soup!
I’ve tried the chicken, sushi, and steak, basically every everything on there menu! And it has been top-notch. The chicken is always cooked well—flavorful, and never dry. The steak? Tender, cooked just right, and full of flavor. But the sushi is easily my favorite. It’s incredibly fresh, perfectly prepared, and honestly some of the best I’ve had. Every bite is packed with flavor, I absolutely love it and always look forward to it!
The drinks are great too—good selection and always refreshing. And let’s not forget the desserts—they’re just as good as everything else! Whether you’re ending your meal with something sweet or just craving a treat, definitely delicious so worth it!
The owners clearly care about the place. It’s always well-run, clean, and has a welcoming atmosphere. Definitely a spot I’ll keep coming back to and recommend to anyone looking for great sushi, good food, and excellent service.
We were pleasantly surprised by the level of personal service the staff provided us. The menu was so large it took us some time and negotiation to decide how to try everything. The food was delicious, the order was spot on.
Now I say spot on, which it was, but the gentleman accidentally put my appetizer order in wrong, he immediately fixed it and came and notified me of the mistake and provided me the accidental ordered item for free. It was cream cheese stuffed jalapenos and they were amazing, the happiest accident of my life and my new favorite.
I also decided to try sake for the first time, the gentleman offered a delicious recommendation. And when I told him we’ve not mastered chopsticks he made beginner chopsticks without judgement.
The kid already wants to return for dessert. Thank you for the wonderful dinner.
And for those wondering we ordered a ridiculous amount of food for 3, took home left overs enough to feed 3 more, for 6 people we paid $150, a great deal!
I’ve had sushi from a variety of places on the peninsula, Seattle, and more. The first time I tasted this sushi, however, I was blown away by the quality and freshness of the sushi! And that’s why I continue to come back to Yamazaki. The fish is high-quality, fresh, and tastes incredible.
Now let’s talk about the Fried Jalapeño Salmon Skin appetizer. Think Jalapeño Tempura with bits of meaty, delicious Salmon Skin Tempura. (And don’t forget that sriracha mayo on the side) It is unbelievably yummy. The extra bit of salmon meat in every bite makes it taste so much more savory, not just flakey fried skin I’ve had at other restaurants. It’s a must-have every time!
The specialty rolls are reasonably-priced and taste spectacular. The Amazing Roll definitely lives up to its name, with the black pepper tuna. I had never tried a black pepper roll before this one and it is my absolute favorite. I order it every time! I’ve had just about every specialty roll on the menu, but my favorites are the Amazing, Saint Helen, Dynamite, and Rollercoaster Rolls. The Seattle, Goku, and Volcano Rolls are also fantastic!
If you want quality sushi with great flavor without breaking the bank, choose Yamazaki!
