My wife and I tried Yamato’s for the first time, (she ordered the Superman Roll) and we were not disappointed! My Sakura Roll was a perfect mix of spicy snow crab and shrimp tempura. The freshly sliced mango on top paired with the mango sauce added the sweet finished icing on the cake. The waitress was so kind to us and very informative on the food choices. Will definitely be back. Highly recommend 10/10

This is a very clean restaurant! It’s a hibachi restaurant and the tables, nor the floor were sticky. And the food-amazing. I had the Superman Roll and it was more than a meal for me. My husband has the chicken and steak hibachi and he said it was the best he has had in East Texas.

Food is decent, and wait staff is friendly. I just wish the meal wasn’t served as fast food. Ordered a hibachi meal and sushi. Received both at the same time. 20-30 minutes in and out $50 plus tip. I would like a dining experience.

My daughter and I ate here last night and was pleasantly surprised. First my daughter got the miso soup and I got the salad with ginger dressing. Both really flavorful and very good. The sushi roll was so tasty with all the other flavors with it. One of the best rolls we’ve had in a while. We also ordered the combination rice with steak, chicken and shrimp. So delicious and fresh. The staff was friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend if you are in the area.

I absolutely love this restaurant… food is always great, the folks are friendly and give prompt service… however, trying to place a call in order isn’t possible because they take the phone off the hook come dinner time. Tried calling 8x over the course of an hr and a half to no avail… steadily just a busy signal. And I know they’re not that damn busy where you can’t get thru to place a pick up order for hrs on end.

Well kept secret in east Texas. Much better than some of the other sushi places around the area. Their eel rolls are wonderful. Atmosphere could use a little touch up. We love coming to Yamatos!

This is the best sushi place I’ve ever been to. I haven’t even gotten my food yet, but the customer service has been top-tier. I placed a to go order and the lady taking my order, I don’t know her name, but she had glasses. I think her name was Alexis and she was so nice. She was combining my sushi to get me the combo cheaper price. She was offering me refills on my to go drink and really just had great customer service and was so kind. It’s very rare to find that experience these days. I hope she knows how appreciated she is being nice can go such a long way. She was working very hard the whole time, seating people, and checking people out along with cleaning all the tables.

Love the sushi here has always been fresh and flavorful. My wife always gets the filet and the meat always has to have salt added for flavor. I know that this is not a favorable cut of meat, but it also should have seasoning.
The decoration and tables are tired and need to be updated and it wouldn’t hurt to have the ledges near the table cleaned as it seemed to be caked with dirt and dust. Staff have always been very friendly. for some reason this time, my wife’s food did not come out until I was already finished with mine, which makes a dining experience not very good.

Great experience and great food. Very tasty sushi. Great atmosphere. The staff was very friendly. Kids loved it as well. Would definitely be back when in the area.
