The food was amazing and so freshly made. By far, the best oriental food in the area.

I never EVER write reviews but today I had to! It was my anniversary today and this is our favorite restaurant. We usually don’t dine in cause the service in the past was pretty bad. But wow has that changed! Our server was Callie and she was the best server I have ever had! Extremely attentive and you could just tell a genuinely sweet girl. She gave us a free cheesecake which was just the icing on the cake! This girl deserves a raise! Thank you for making our dining experience so special.

Ok… I figured it’s about time to write a review about Yamato in Somerset Ky. We’ve been there several times now, but today will be the last. Don’t get me wrong… the food is delicious. No problem there. But the restaurant is filthy and disgusting. There was nobody dining at the time we walked in. But several tables still had dirty plates, there was debris on the floor, and the soy sauce and the drink flip cards on the table were sticky and gummy, disgusting to touch. When we arrived, the waitress and and the manager were both sitting, and on their phones. Not bothering to clean. Awhile after our food was served, the waitress cleared off the table next to us, but did not bother to wipe it down. The appearance of the waitress was not professional at all. No particular dress code, and the filth under her fingernails was repulsive. But once again, to be fair… the food is very good. So, basically, if you don’t mind the filth, you definitely won’t be disappointed!

I was always a big fan of this restaurant, having Japanese food in our area is so cool. However, the service has gotten worse and worse over time.

Despite our better judgment, we thought we would give this place another shot in hopes of improvement since it had been over a year since our last disaster of a visit. Once again, we were very disappointed. Let me start by saying that first and foremost, our waitress was possibly one of the best I have ever seen. What in the world she is doing working there is just sad and a waste of true talent. Our horrible experience had zero to do with her, she was as frustrated as we were. It took over 1.5 hours to get our food. Mind you, it was just my husband and myself and the only other people in the restaurant was a family of 3. My husband got his sushi right away, but waited all that extra time to get his rice he ordered to go with it. I had ordered the chicken bento box and I’m guessing they had to go out and ring it’s neck first. I’ve no clue what the holdup was. I ate about 1/3 of my meal and offered my husband to help as I could not eat it all. The taste was ok at best, but you would have thought that for such a long wait it would have been hot. Nope. Anyway, by this time we are more than ready to leave. We went to bed that night and at about midnight I woke up with my stomach killing me. I took some OTC stomach meds, didn’t help. Finally I thought relief was coming as I felt the urge to throw up. I had horrific vomiting and diarrhea with extreme stomach cramps. I yelled for my husband to bring me some water, but he did not come. I walked through the house to find him experiencing the exact same thing in the other bathroom. We both did that off and on thought the rest of the night and a large part of the next day. We both felt great prior to eating there and can only assume it was the food. That place is disgustingly filthy, and that’s the area we can see. I can only imagine the kitchen! This place is forever off of our local places to dine list. Never again. I will be notifying the health department of our experience as soon as the holiday weekend is over. No way this place is up to code!

The wait staff is great but the food is not worth the price. The quality of food means each plate in my opinion $12 tops. But we just paid 17.99 a piece. The decor is great, service great, price not worth it.

My husband and I went here for our anniversary last week. We were happily surprised at the quality, portion sizes, and flavors! We are vegetarian, so we had the Hibatchi vegetables, and the Soba noodles with veggies. We also tried their miso soup, the Jade roll, and the sweet potato roll. Everything was excellent and they were very accommodating with my food preferences! We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

This is the best place for outstanding hibachi chicken & Shrimp with fried rice. Both lunch and dinner portion sizes are bountiful and you will likely leave with a snack portion for later. The service is superb from everyone especially Layna and Heather. You will continue to make this restaurant a go to for both dine in and to go.

Weird sushi, the rice was tasteless, the fish fell of the nigiri, soy sauce was a couple of plastic bags, take out style. Absolutely not worth the price. Service was ok, the place is a bit shoddy.

The wife and I went to Yamato’s in Somerset yesterday evening. The place was fairly empty for a Saturday. The food was good. The restaurant itself was grungy and service was almost comically bad. I left a minimal 15% tip because I know the waitress was probably doing the best she could and the problems were due, as is almost always the case, with bad management. We won’t be going back there any time soon unless it’s to get takeout. Again, food was good, restaurant itself is a dumpster fire.
