A small intimate restaurant.
The pick of our meal was the seafood soup.
Nothing was wrong with any of the other food items except the soup stood out because of its very good.
The one downside was they were out of some of the most popular wines.

I have heard some people speak well of this place, years back, so we decided to give it a try. We walked in and staff ignored us. Eventually someone told us to just sit wherever we wanted. The place was dark and drab inside. We noticed posters taped to the wall with scotch tape. Our waitress did a good job so no complaints with her. When our food came out it was luke warm at best. I had to go to another table to find a salt shaker…and once I got it, I didn’t want to use it. It looked like it had been rolled in egg and flour (or something)? The food tasted okay but the atmosphere was terrible and the place just didn’t seem clean. This was our one and only visit.

I wish they would modernize the place a bit and make it look more appealing. Employees should be more presentable and better dressed when waiting tables.

I had the teriyaki meat with rice. The rice was ok. The Teriyaki Meat was terrible. The thin slices of meat were so tough that I had a hard time chewing it, indicating that it was either a cheap cut of meat or overcooked or both. I could only eat about half of my lunch. When I paid and asked how the meal was I told her that the meat was VERY tough and I could not eat it. Only thing she said was Sorry.
It was my first and last time eating there. Other dishes might be better but do not order what I ordered.

Ok… I figured it’s about time to write a review about Yamato in Somerset Ky. We’ve been there several times now, but today will be the last. Don’t get me wrong… the food is delicious. No problem there. But the restaurant is filthy and disgusting. There was nobody dining at the time we walked in. But several tables still had dirty plates, there was debris on the floor, and the soy sauce and the drink flip cards on the table were sticky and gummy, disgusting to touch. When we arrived, the waitress and and the manager were both sitting, and on their phones. Not bothering to clean. Awhile after our food was served, the waitress cleared off the table next to us, but did not bother to wipe it down. The appearance of the waitress was not professional at all. No particular dress code, and the filth under her fingernails was repulsive. But once again, to be fair… the food is very good. So, basically, if you don’t mind the filth, you definitely won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I went here for our anniversary last week. We were happily surprised at the quality, portion sizes, and flavors! We are vegetarian, so we had the Hibatchi vegetables, and the Soba noodles with veggies. We also tried their miso soup, the Jade roll, and the sweet potato roll. Everything was excellent and they were very accommodating with my food preferences! We highly recommend this place and will definitely be back!

We were a group of 7 and enjoyed the privacy in a back dining room. Our server was so patient, and very good to us! The food was delicious and everyone had a great time!

Was actually very surprised with how good the food was! We didn’t have high expectations from an outlet mall Japanese resteraunt but it was amazing! The portions were extremely large so we’re gonna be eating those again tomorrow. And gladly enjoying it again too! Would reccomend stopping by for some great food!

I feel wrong for ever saying anything bad about this place. The people are kind and inviting if you get to know them. To a first-timer, it might feel awkward, but the place is very cozy if you keep an open mind, becoming more warm the more often you visit. Food is wonderful and authentic, always great portions for the price. I always love my visits and never have an issue- Even if I did, I know staff have our best interest at heart and will do anything to make it right. Wonderful people and wonderful food.
