Typically I don’t post reviews but this experience was very disappointing as we typically go every Friday Night. Tonight it took 1 hr 15 mins to get our food after we were told after 30 mins it would only be another 10-15 mins. The food finally came out and the steak was the worst we’ve every had, very tough and chewy. The service was good, no complaints there but when people sit down 45 mins after you’ve been there and get their food at the same time something is definitely wrong. Last week it took nearly 45 mins to get our food so there seems to be a trend. I was expecting some sort of discount after the server apologized about 5 times about the delay but not 1 cent was taken off our bill. I paid and left a 18% percent tip but I would be leery of going back anytime soon!

HORRIBLE!!! Our salads came out before our appetizer. Sales took about 45 minutes. Then finally after asking for our appetizer and it’s no update it came out after about an hour. Our food came out immediately after and was cold and nasty. It was the worst hibachi I’ve ever had. Shrimp was small and salty and the scallops were small and had zero flavor. The service was even WORSE! He didn’t ask us how our food was. It was so so disgusting. Would never eat here again. Our server was Lincoln.

Yamato will always get 5 stars if you ask me. I love this place, I’ve been coming for years! I used to visit the one in Sanford before they broke my heart, and moved completely to apex. But I still travel because it’s just that Good! Give it a try, best customer service, the owner is passionate and always so nice. Staff is usually knowledgeable and also polite. The imperial dinner is my fav entree and the sushi is delish as well !

The food was amazing 5 stars. The service was great 5 stars. The price is 6 stars out of 5. The restuaraunt was very clean, but older and small. Which I don’t mind.this may be why the price is so great. I would give this place a 4 and three quarters.

Stopped in for a late-ish dinner on St Patrick’s Day. Restaurant was quite busy but was seated quickly. Waiter was very attentive but not intrusive. Tried the hibachi shrimp. Enjoyed every bite. Get the white sauce with the shrimp and lightly dip them. This place is on the main road through Apex and easy to find. It is nothing fancy inside but don’t be deterred and you won’t be disappointed.

Got supper to go this evening and found a bug in the food. Called and spoke with the Manager and he refused to give me my money back. He said I would have to bring the food in. I explained that I am not leaving the house to show him a bug that was in the food. They can never get the order right. Ask for no mushrooms and they give you loads of mushrooms. I would not recommend going here. There are a many other Japanese Restaurants out there that are way better and won’t find bugs in your food. I am disgusted and sick to my stomach. Poor service as well. We will not be going back there. I wouldn’t even give a one star.

This place is a gem. The building is a little worn but the food is fresh and delish. Sushi is a little cheaper bc it’s not a 2for1 like some places. The owner makes the sushi fresh and the hibachi is pretty great too. Not a huge dining area and can get crowded. Go early.

I finally went to this place last week and am already back the next. It is fantastic. I have driven by it 100 times and never stopped – that is a mistake. This is one of the best restaurants in Apex.
