I just want to stop and take the time to leave a good review! First off their deep fried sushi rolls Are Amazing!! The chicken hibachi with the white rice is also another good one. The two deep fried rolls I had were Kamakazi Roll, Dynamite Roll add cream cheeze, Diablo Roll. Yall will not be disappointed. They are freaking awesome! Thank you!

Got the Hibachi Filet Mignon and Shrimp. It came with salad (average) and onion soup (super tasty). The filet mignon and shrimp were surprisingly high quality for a hibachi grill. Filet mignon was tender and the shrimp were much larger than I was anticipating. Big quantity of veggies but they were over cooked to mush and the rice was unacceptably poor. The entire plate was completely drowning in sauce. Atmosphere is odd. Still setup pandemic style and it is 2 clearly overworked employees. You will stand at the door awkwardly until 1 of the 2 employees comes out from cooking in the kitchen.

My 3 star rating is based on the lack of cleaness in the front end, boxes opened, paper goods scareted, and furniture full of dust. The food quality and preparation a rating of 4.5 stars. Service was friendly and on time. Restaurant is nicely decorated ambiance music is quite needed. We had lunch for four of us. I strongly believe if some of the small issues are taken care regarding the disorganized image, Yamato Japanese restaurant could one of the best in many miles in southern Illinois.

How is this a fairly new place. DIRTY! We walked in, sat down, and the filth was unavoidable and impossible to ignore. There was one guy sitting, serving, and cooking. We walked out and went elsewhere. Bathrooms were disgusting. The condiment containers couldn’t have been cleaned, maybe ever. Went be back. How can this business expect ONE person to do it all

This place is bomb. Its my go to takeout place, and i often mind myself craving it. The food is high quality, and i love it. I don’t understand why other reviewers seem to expect michelin star meals from a small town grill. The server is super chill, i quite like the guy. Their noodles are literally to die for, without a doubt the best in town. Their spicy salmon roll is great, i get it everytime. Overall, this place rocks, best asian cuisine in centralia and the surrounding area. I would absolutely recommend going in. The sit down experience is also incredible! The atmosphere is stellar.

They advertise on Door dash but constantly cancel orders. If you don’t want to participate in Door dash then remove your restaurant. When they do accept an order it takes FOREVER to get your food. Like over an hour! Which is super disappointing because I love sushi and was excited to finally get a restaurant near me that serves it.

I had the hibachi shrimp, mushroom soup, and salad which was good. I don’t know why we were seated in a booth next to a bunch of empty cardboard boxes when they were mostly empty. The waitress wasn’t attentive and never brought a couple of things we asked for. My appetizer came after my meal.

I used to love this place but it’s really went downhill. It’s FILTHY. Just amazed they are able to stay open. Never in my life have I seen a restaurant so gross. My plate was even dirty. Food has been mediocre as well. Upset because this is the only sushi in town and they used to be good. He refuses to hire help and refuses to clean. I’m not joking when I say the place hasn’t been cleaned in years. Floors nothing. All he does is wipe off tables and by the look of our plates he just sprays them off. Disgusting .
