I expected a lot because every other Yamato has been really good. We were a bit let down….Our server did not seem very well informed of the menu or our requests. She wasn’t able to tell us if certain items were gluten-free. We had to reorder one of the items because of that. The sushi rice was very dry, and the pieces were much smaller than I’ve had in other Yamato restaurants. They did come nicely displayed. We did LOVE the sweet potato sushi. We absolutely loved the Lobster Rangoon more than anything else we ordered – served hot, delicious creamy filling, crispy on the outside. Love the yum-yum sauce, but the salads had very finely chopped lettuce that was wilted a bit. The shrimp teriyaki bento box had very generous portions of rice and veggies. Two people in our party wanted hot tea and we were told there was none. Very disappointing on a cold, rainy day. It was okay, could have been a little better.

Cooked food was ok. I wouldn’t try any sushi because of how filthy the place was! Just hire a kid to go around with a bottle of fantastic and a roll of paper towel for a few hours ♂️. Played for appetizers would be nice.

I just want to start out saying the food was absolutely amazing. The chefs and sushi masters at the restaurant are top tier. Unfortunately I had one of the worst service experience ever. First thing we were all given the wrong drinks after sitting there 20 minutes without seeing a waitress to even get them ordered and put in. It took our group an hour to get our food- which was mixed up into each others plates and we had to request more plates to separate it ourselves. One of our party of 7 people didn’t even get their food and had to wait another 30 minutes extra just to receive it in a to go box.
Then when we had to split the checks, instead of bringing out separate tickets the waitress insisted we all come up to the register to get them split as she didn’t draw lines between each order on the pad (which also explains why our food was received so thrown together). Where we then spent 30 minutes having to tell her over and over what we all got because she didn’t even know what table we were at (insisted we were at C4 not D4 from what I overheard, which was totally wrong anyways) getting given the WRONG CHANGE to where they took it back and gave me $9 less in the most complicated fashion I have ever seen in my life.
It took them 10 minutes to ring up my little sisters 2 sushi rolls and a sweet tea because surprise surprise it wasn’t rung up correctly in the system.
My brother was charged 75$ for supposedly 1 bottle of sake 2 sushi rolls and a Dr Pepper which doesn’t add up to the prices on the menu.
My friend was double charged for the bottle of sake my brother had already paid for and was over charged as well for an extra sushi roll and a drink no one even got.
We then seen them make the waitress pay the difference into the registration which is not only illegal in the state of Ky, but also what she paid the “difference” for we did not even get or receive so it made zero sense.
Based on comments from other staff, this waitress gives this same service to others a lot more than it should possibly be able to happen.
It was honestly a horrible birthday experience (that took wayyyy too long to experience) and I just caution anyone purchasing food to make sure the menu price is honored and upheld, definitely insist on a receipt and honestly just order your food to go and save yourself from a horrible experience of eating inside for hours.

My family went for a reunion dinner last night. A party of six, and everything was so good. I think all of us really enjoyed it. The food was delicious. The server is super nice, and the decor is very pretty. I almost forgot that we were still in Kentucky lol

After we were seated, no one ever came to take our order. One girl that was busing tables came to check on us and got yelled at by some girl with braids in her hair, maybe a manager. I don’t know. She told the girl to clean tables and not take orders. The service was awful. We never got any refills on our drinks. The food was mediocre. A bunch of tables were not cleaned, and there was food on the floor that people kept walking over. The whole experience from beginning to end was not pleasant at all.

Yamato Japanese Steakhouse offers an exceptional culinary experience with standout dishes like the Snow Mountain roll, Dynamite roll, Hibachi chicken, California roll, and Spicy California roll. The flavors and quality of the food are definitely highlights worth noting. The only hiccup was a 15-minute wait from seating to waitress contact, but their quick apology and explanation diffused the situation gracefully. Mistakes can occur, but the overall dining experience remained delightful, showcasing their commitment to great service and delicious cuisine.

Food was amazing and delicious! Great prices and a great meal while we visited Campbellsville. They had very friendly wait staff. Parking was available, handicap accessible too. The bathrooms were dirty and could really use a good scrubbing and a new coat of paint, but other than that it was great. We would definitely return next time we’re in the area!

HOSPITAL VISIT! My family has always ordered takeout from this place up until this past summer. I ordered my usual chicken w rice and noodles plate and ate at home. My wife isn’t a big fan of Japanese food so she ordered from a Mexican restaurant. We ate at home that evening and by the middle of the night I was throwing up and had the most severe nausea I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. Worst pain in the middle of my stomach too. I remember feeling delusional and just praying to God because I thought I was dying. My wife rushed me to the hospital where I was given nausea medication. Unfortunately my mom had also taken a few bites off my plate so she went thru the same symptoms I had just not as extreme. Fortunately my wife and son (1yr old) didn’t have any of that food that day. I don’t think a 1 year old would have been able to handle that type of sickness. Ever since I’ve had anxiety about ANYTHING I eat. One of the worst experiences of my life, I’ll remember it forever.

Booth seating is horribly uncomfortable. Waited nearly an hour for cold food. However, not the worst experience I’ve ever had, but I’ve had better experiences at McDonald’s.
