I stopped by while passing through town on a road trip. Honestly, my first thoughts were that this place was an absolute dive. I thought I had pulled up at the wrong place! I learned quickly that this restaurant definitely can not be judged by its cover. Firstly, their staff were incredibly friendly and quick to serve my table. The food was incredible! I’ve been to some pretty high end sushi restaurants that fell very short of the quality of food this restaurant had. The price was affordable, the food was amazing, and I loved the boba tea I ordered as well. You can definitely tell that a lot of love goes into this restaurant. I also can give nothing but kudos to the two young male servers who were incredibly attentive, funny, and kind to my mom and I. Also pro tip: order the lobster rangoon! It is INSANE!

We have tried this restaurant 5-6 times since it opened, hoping that it would eventually get better. Unfortunately it has not. The food and sushi consistently taste old. The chicken bento box I ordered the last time was so chewy I thought it was rubber. The onion soup always tastes soured. The only decent thing we’ve had is the gyoza and sexy jalapeno appetizers. I was hoping to have a great sushi place here in Scottsburg but it’s not left a good impression with us. After spending at least $100 an order for four of us, I’ll just drive to Jeff or Madison and get fresher tasting stuff.

You get what you pay for I guess. The food was very affordable, but just okay in taste. The only thing I can recommend is the lobster rangoon, which was amazing. The sushi was just okay in quality and flavor. The atmosphere is very strange. No music, so all you hear is yourselves and the people around you talking. The soy sauce bottles don’t get cleaned so they have dried soy sauce stuck to the sides of the bottles and the holes are clogged so you have to unscrew the bottles to pour yourself soy sauce. The two waitresses on the floor had a total of 5 tables between the both of them and struggled to keep up with them. When we ordered our appetizer (the lobster rangoon), it got brought out and we were not offered plates. We had to wait 5 mins for our server to come back to ask her for plates. This restaurant also does not have knives. Not sure what food establishment doesn’t have knives. Upon trying to pay the bill, we got charged for the price of the wrong bill (someone else’s), and we had to wait for a manager to come and void the ticket and pay for the correct bill. We were also not informed of a service charge for using a credit card, so the second time around when we paid our correct bill, we paid cash to avoid that charge.

Just stopped in on a whim and I’m so glad I did! I ordered the hibachi and a fried sushi roll, and honestly, it was the best I’ve ever had. Everything was so fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can tell they really care about the food they make. The staff was so kind and the place had such a cozy, welcoming feel. Loved it!

Everything I wanted and expected! The hibachi filet was delicious, and perfectly cooked. The seaweed salad was great, but just a little light on quantity; that said, it was only $4. I wish there was a larger one. (Maybe order two!)
Salad was very fresh. Waitress and staff very nice and quick service!
Thanks for having me!

Five of us went and had a variety of items. I ate steak yakisoba. Very good. Though, it was lite on the seak. Still good.
We had some minor issues with the veggies on 3 orders. Just eat what they give you. Still good.
No Saki, beer, or wine.

Ordered online. The sushi had to be microwaved. It was dried out and stale like it was cooked too long in a microwave. I ate one and threw out the rest. Disgusting. The fried rice was okay. I eat a Tomos in New albany all the time and they have great food…. this place is gross.

This was some seriously tasty hibachi at a great price. Portion size for the rice, veggies and chicken was great. I am not a huge fan of egg so I was pleased that there wasn’t a ton of it in the fried rice.
The restaurant was small but calm, with gentle instrumental music playing in the background. The two waitresses did not make as many table visits as I would typically expect, but all of the parts of the meal (soup, veg, meat, rice) were hot and very tasty when they arrived. However, I will also say that I ordered takeout in the same week and walked right in and picked it up. So quality of service may vary based on time of day and whether you eat out or are dining in.

Just made a road trip cross country and this is the best sushi and the best hibachi we’ve ever had hands down. If your ever within 50 miles definitely make a stop here
