We stopped by Saturday evening and had dinner. Could not understand the server. She could not understand or speak English very well.Had to repeat myself several times.Come in If you are going to have restaurant here at least have people who speak well. Asked about senior or veteran discount. She couldn’t understand. She was told to give 10percent. She charged my card full price.Called the next day to speak to the manager. Wanted to know who I was and why I was calling. Very rude. Finally got a manager but no help there.Told me to come back and they would give me credit on my next meal or give me a cash refund. The he said he would go credit my card which he never did. The food was terrible. Rice was dry and salty. Steak was too tough to chew. If you want good Japanese food go to the Chop Sticks in Lillington.The food is better and the price is better. And you can understand them Will never go back to Yamato’s again.

The food is amazing. They really know their stuff, consistently good quality and great taste. The service is not perfect but that’s because they’re so busy most of the time but they are working hard to make sure you get the best food.

Ordered Yaki chicken lunch bento box to go. Very disappointed in the quality of the food. ALL the fried items were overcooked and greasy, unable to eat those. The rice was dry, not much flavor. I have had food from this restaurant previously when visiting family and the food was fine. Bento box – never again.

I went into this establishment and was immediately disrespected. I handed the lady at the register my card and she tossed it back at me as if there was a problem. I ordered my food online and it was not up to par with the reviews I have read previously. The food was horrible and the customer service matched the food. I will not be eating from this restaurant again

Food and price are good, just wish the sushi was colder. I’ve had it room temperature or warmer every time. Might just be a preference thing.

My wife and I had an awesome meal at Yamato Japanese Restaurant tonight. We both shared and enjoyed the Volcano & Pearl Sushi, along with Yaki Steak, a Ginger Salad, & Japanese Sweet Carrots. We topped it off with a beautiful House Chardoney for my wife, and my absolute favorite Sweet Tea with Lime.

A really sad experience. Went to lunch with friends after church. We had heard the restaurant was declining but this was really a BAD day. The food took 1.5+ hours to arrive. That’s at least 90 minutes. When our food did come the rice was cold, there was no lettuce for a salad, the steak was well done as opposed to our requested medium, the sushi was loosely rolled and the Tea was spoiled. I went to privately speak with the manager. I told her what was happening and she really didn’t seem concerned. All she could say was that she would give us a discount. When we went to pay our check my $42 check was discounted $5 and the manager wouldn’t even come to the register to talk to us.
