Very small serving size compared to others. Only 6 sweet carrots in one tray.
This place used to be good before. Will not be ordering again. I rather go to Saki Express in mount holly and that’s a pretty good drive to get there.

The food was not good. The shrimp sauce tasted like mayonnaise, the sweet carrots tasted spoiled and the broccoli had no seasoning. The chicken was ok.

I do not know what has happened to this place over the years but it has gone down hill. I went tonight for example, and asked for teriyaki chicken and fried rice,, extra teriyaki and what I get is dry chicken, no teriyaki whatsoever, and white rice! The lady at the window, was not friendly and not sure she even understood what I ordered. I would have taken it back to get refund except for I was back at work already and could not leave. Poor experience yet again from this place I used to love. Won’t be back

My husband went to pick up at the drive through window for us. He ordered 4 teas but it being near closing time they ran out and we only got 3 and when the young man was trying to give him his money back the older lady acted like there was about to be a horrific problem, so he told the young man to just keep it. Then when he gets home with our food the spring rolls are burnt, and something is up off bad with the rice! It is definitely not a good night at Yamato’s!

Hands down, the absolute best place for hibachi. Know the owners personally and as well as the original owner even though he passed away, would love for them to build a place here in fayetteville. They would get soooo much buisness, i hate having to travel 3 hours to get it but soooooooo worth it.

The food isn’t bad, and it’s really close to my house, but they’re ridiculously and illogically stingy with substitutions. I don’t care for sweet carrots, but they won’t allow you to get a different, equally priced vegetable instead, or even extra rice. Other hibachi restaurants in Gastonia will happily allow this. For this reason, I don’t really go here any more, nor do I strongly recommend it. Okay food, but subpar customer service.
