Yamas – Austin, TX
In Greek culture, the word ‘Yamas’ is not just a toast, but an invocation of good health and a celebration of life. Derived from the phrase ‘στην υγεια μας’, …

The moment we arrived the clean white washed building reminded me of my trip to Oia in Santorini. We were seated immediately which was early for our reservation. Our server Jade greeted us promptly an delivered us some waters. She then asked what we would like to start off with drinks. I explained to her that i wanted an experience in Greek food and drinks. She said well let’s start with some Ouzo. She brought it neat but provided us with some ice chips and juice. She said it is consumed several ways but allowed us the options. My wife ordered the Artemis spritz which she said was the exact drink she needed at that moment. Props to the bar staff on that one.
We started our meal with several appetizers at the recommendation of some friends. Dolmadakia, Graviera Saganaki, and Seabass Carpaccio. I want to say the dolmas were my favorite but that was more nostalgia because the Seabass was incredible. It was so clean with just the right amount of citrus. I could have had just that and been satisfied.
For our mains we ordered Filet minion Souvlaki and the Lamb chops. The lamb chops came with Greek fries which were extremely tasty and perfectly cooked. We got the rice with the filet mignon souvlaki and I dare say stole the show of that dish. We loved the mains as well but it is nice when the sides carry their weight.
We finished the meal with Baklava, of course. By this point in pain from the amount of food but happy.
Jade really took care of us. Her recommendations showed mastery of the menu. Her charisma was infectious. She really nailed that balance of attentive when needed and absent when not. It was after all date night. High marks. Thank you

The service we received was incredible. Server went above and beyond for us. The food was very tasty but nothing crazy. The hummus was okay; the spread platter was great as the other spreads were great. Branzino was very good, octopus was slightly overcooked. Greek salad was good.

Loved the pink flowers in the entrance and all over the restaurant, it looks really really cute and the pictures are amazing.
Went for valentines lunch. The service was soo good. Food was served quickly. We got chicken soup, hummus and pita, chicken kebab plate. All of them were average.
I really loved the place but wish the food tastes more delicious and flavorful.

the place is absolutely beautiful. The vibe is definitely there and the atmosphere is very inviting.
We loved the octopus. It was cooked to perfection, although I felt it had a bit too much red onion. The fried calamari were tasty, and the appetizers in general were good. Pita bread: WOOOOOW!
That said, the service really needs improvement. The wait time for each dish was very long, and the service felt extremely slow throughout our lunch. We also noticed that while we were eating, there were employees sitting at the bar chatting, which didn’t come across as very professional, especially given how slow the service was.
Overall, the food and ambiance are strong, but the service needs serious attention. Adding more servers or improving service flow would make a big difference.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Yamas is truly special the food, the atmosphere, the energy… everything was perfect. Every single dish was unreal, and you can tell how much care goes into both the food and the experience.
Huge shoutout to Noah for making the night even better top-tier service and such a welcoming, genuine vibe. This place is something special, and I already can’t wait to come back. If you’re in Austin, you have to eat here.

Wonderful experience from start to finish! Loved the great vibe and the beautifully designed spaces. The food was exceptional. You absolutely must order the octopus—it was incredible! This is definitely the best place in town for brunch or dinner. I’m already excited to come back and try more dishes. Highly recommend!

This place is GORGEOUS Honestly, I have never experienced Greek food and I am thoroughly impressed. The food was delicious and so were our drinks. The ambiance is stunning, I felt like I traveled out of the country for brunch. We sat on the patio, where there were misting fans and partial shade. For brunch they have a DJ, which was a cool vibe. They also have a separate detached patio with private bar for private parties, makes me want to find a reason to throw a party!
I will definitely be back with my husband next time so he can experience this wonderful spot.

We’ve only been a few times, but we like Yamas a lot, especially for date nights! Very romantic and great food. The reason it’s not 5 stars is that the tables are really close together and small (a little awkward) and our waiter wasn’t attentive.

Amazing experience, the decor and atmosphere is so fresh and relaxing. The service was top notch their very attentive and friendly. The food was very delicious I had a very well made drink inspired by Greece, meatball appetizer which was so good and the pork chop meal. The meat was so tender, juicy, perfectly seasoned absolutely yum! They gave me a choice between rice and fries and I chose the rice, i personally am not a rice person but their rice was so good I loved it. I got to experience a different cuisine while feeling like am in a different continent but along still being in Texas. 10/10 would recommend anyone to go. You do need a reservation.
