The food was pretty good and the staff was nice. Some dishes were interesting (in a good way), like the tofu noodle soup with mountain vegetables. The dishes came out when ready and were very far apart and we were mostly done when my child received her meal, for example. It would be great if they had more tofu options.

Lovely sushi restaurant near downtown front royal. Baby octopus app was very well prepared with a lightly sweet sauce to match the delicate dish. All the sushi was fresh, well prepared and presented beautifully. The owner also came to check on us which was very charming. Looking forward to going back!

Had some EXCELLENT sushi here! My wife and I had spent the day hiking in Shenandoah National Park and this was exactly what we needed! Everything was great! The food was incredible, the service was on point and the restaurant was very clean. Just wish I had more room in my stomach for more sushi!

YamaFuji is a bit of a mixed bag – the exterior is really run-down looking, but the inside looks quite nice. The bathrooms were quite dirty – it felt like nobody cleaned them (there was no soap, for starters). Our server quoted the current day’s deals incorrectly but he was really friendly and accommodated us well. The food came out really slowly but it was delicious! We got the salmon lover roll and some spicy salmon tempura rolls and both were delicious and a reasonable price too. Overall, not the best experience but the food was good enough that I’d consider going back.

My husband and I eat here often and have never been disappointed! The food is always fresh and delicious. Service is great. It’s a nice little gem in Front Royal and one of our favorite places to eat! You have to try the tempura cheesecake! So yummy!

Chicken teriyaki was okay flavor wise but very dry and had a lot less vegetables than photos I had seen in other reviews. The pork Katsu however was amazing! Lots of flavor and cooked to perfection.

I would like to preface this review by saying this was my first and only visit to this restaurant so I will update if/when I visit again. My experience was just Ok as was the food just OK. They were not overly busy in restaurant but still took about 35 minutes to receive my order of sushi. There was only one waitress who was dealing with dine in customers, curbside pickup, and online ordering so she was busy. The inside of the restaurant is on the older side and could use some updating and deep cleaning. Ordered an appetizer of Shumai which was ok but did not taste very fresh and may have been previously frozen. The sushi was adequate and seemed the ingredients were fresh and they did offer a few sushi selections that are not offered at other similar places in the local area. The prices were in line with the area and they were offering a few specials at a lower cost. Overall I will give them another try and possibly have some ramen or a hot dish.

Hidden Gem! Love authentic Japanese cuisine? Stop here after your Shenandoah experience! All their rolls have been excellent and high quality. Love getting the salmon bento box! And for desert, don’t skip the red bean mochi.
