A hidden gem in Ellicott City!
We went to Yama Sushi today and I’m honestly blown away. We tried the Spicy King Roll, Butterfly Roll, and Columbia Roll. All fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The owner even brought out a sample of seared salmon belly, and it was out of this world!
The service was just as amazing as the food. Everyone was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind. I can’t believe I’ve lived in HoCo this long and never tried Yama Sushi before. It’s officially my new favorite sushi spot! Highly recommend for anyone who loves great sushi and great people.

Service was so friendly!! Angel was our server. She greeted us as soon as we came in. Food was authentic Japanese food. Sushi salmon roll was superb! Perfect amount of rice rolled with Salmon, and Avacado. Atmosphere was very relaxing, calm and Japanese flair. Loved it and will come back!!

We came here to celebrate our sister’s birthday. the staff is welcoming and warm. They were understanding of our allergies and picky eaters, everyone is very accommodating. The staff were happy and it made the experience wonderful. The food is so fresh and phenomenal and so beautifully prepared. The chef is amazing! Love this place will definitely come again!

This has to be the #1 sushi place In Howard County. They have the best Sushi variations. We usually get the Boat selections. On this day though, it was a hot summer day and we decided to get stuff from the other parts of the menu and the freshness is just incomparable to any other place in town. The staff there is awesome too. If you’re hungry, want a nice smile and a wonderful meal…go there!

This restaurant is fantastic!! The atmosphere and decor are so aesthetic and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. There is a huge variety of sushi options as well as kitchen entrees, but the sushi is particularly fresh and high quality. They even have plenty of cooked sushi for people who would prefer not to eat raw fish. Highly recommend 🙂

I love Yama Sushi! I’ve been eating here for years, and the sushi has always been consistently fresh and delicious. They put real care into the presentation too, often adding little details like an edible flower or sauce drizzles in the shape of a bird.
I usually come for the sushi, but their seared salmon belly appetizer is also delicious (melts in your mouth), and their sashimi entree is great.
Everyone is really kind and welcoming.
