Amazing Reuben! It’s one of my favorite dishes to order wherever I go, and this one absolutely did not disappoint. It was authentic, fresh, and packed with flavor. The homemade sauerkraut served with it was a standout — you can really taste the care and tradition behind it.
The bakery itself is to die for. I chose to eat outside and found everything very clean with plenty of seating. Even though it was wicked busy, the line moved quickly and it never felt like a long wait. There was live music playing while I was there, which added so much to the experience.
The ambiance, both inside and out, makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a little cultural nook — a refreshing break from the typical plaza-filled Florida scene. Food, atmosphere, and experience all hit the mark. I’ll absolutely be back.

Yalaha Bakery is a hidden gem in Central Florida. The food is excellent—fresh, authentic, and full of flavor—with a great variety of baked goods and meals. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portions you get. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a charming outdoor area that makes it a perfect stop to relax and enjoy your meal. Friendly service and consistent quality make this place well worth the visit. Highly recommended!

What a fantastic day trip to Yalaha Bakery! We loved immersing ourselves in the German culture and atmosphere. The selection of pastries and breads is amazing. We enjoyed the berry cake and cookies while we were there, and couldn’t resist taking home pistachio cheesecake and German chocolate cake for later—every bite was incredible.
We’ll definitely come back for breakfast next time since the menu looks so yummy, but it’s only served during the morning hours. For lunch, we ordered the Reuben pretzel sandwich and it was outstanding. Sitting outside in the beautiful weather while listening to live German music made the experience feel truly authentic and special.
Don’t forget to order a German beer!
We can’t wait to return and will absolutely be bringing friends!

We have been going to this German bakery in Yalaha for years and it has always been to our satisfaction. Few days ago wasn’t an exception. Our lunch consisted of their delicious sandwiches. All their breads are organic and their pastries and cakes are hard to beat. Highly recommended. The place was understandably busy. There was even live music in the courtyard where customers can enjoy their meals.

Stopped here on our way home after a wedding for some coffee and treats. On top of that, we ended up leaving with a loaf of garlic sourdough and our bellies full of bratwurst and pretzel! This place was packed wall-to-wall with bodies, from bicyclists, to motorcyclists, to car enthusiasts. There are so many amazing things to try here, and the prices are very fair for the quality. I ordered an eclaire and a latte to start. We enjoyed our meal outside on the patio while listening to a live accordion performance. It felt like we traveled back in time to the old country. Grateful for our experiences here. We will be back!

If you’re not located in Northwest Orlando, you might be thinking: is it really worth driving all the way to Yalaha just to go to a bakery? Yes, it is. Totally worth it.
I’ll say the food isn’t mind-blowing, but the combination of the small-town feel, the house’s architecture, the large green space (with live music) to sit and enjoy, and the traditional food (or at least as traditional as you can find in Florida) makes the trip worthwhile. My Bratwurst plate was very good, especially the sauerkraut, which wasn’t too sour, just like they make it in Germany. The desserts are beautiful and mouthwatering. I ordered the German hazelnut cake which, although enjoyable overall, lacked moisture and hazelnut flavor in my opinion.
I want to go back to try one of their strudels (besides the traditional apple, they also have other flavors like raspberry — interesting, right?).

This place needs 6 Stars, seriously. The Yalaha Bakery is an award-winning, old world German Bakery and restaurant located in Yalaha, Florida, on County Road 48. “We bake with love!” In business since 1995, this authentic German bakery is family owned. Their products are organic and preservative free, using only the finest ingredients. Open 8AM to 7PM seven days a week, you have plenty of time to pop in and grab some amazing treats and meals. You may need that time, because this eatery is SO awesome and popular, the line can be long. It’s only long because people love everything and buy a lot of items. Look around- customers are writing down lists on pieces of paper to remember what to order. They walk out with boxes full. I’ve made many visits through the years. The staff has consistently been friendly and helpful, giving suggestions on their favorites. They’ll ring you up as fast as possible so you can start eating. Oh my goodness, the eating …The artisanal breads, priced incredibly reasonable btw, sell out quick, so you better buy it if you see it. Tip: no preservatives means use part and freeze the rest. They have so many items, you’ll struggle to choose what you want, which contributes to that line. That’s an amazing problem to have! Everything tastes as good as it looks. German tortes, cream horns, strudels, pies, cakes, pretzels with cheese, stollen, eclairs, treats covered in chocolate – etc. Etc means there’s much more, but those are my favs. So much yumminess to choose from!! They have sandwiches with authentic German provisions like schnitzel, salami, liverwurst, bratwurst, knackwurst, frankfurters, and don’t forget the sauerkraut. There’s a lot of outdoor seating in their Biergarten, which is your best plan for a lovely Florida day. Check their website for a calendar of events, because many weekends, there are live bands playing German Folk tunes, typically Saturday and Sunday from 12PM to 3PM. The bathroom is nice and clean. Let me recap: you’ll want to eat everything, prices are reasonable, the seating outside is lovely, and the staff are super sweet and knowledgeable. Tell the owner, Anne Marie, hello and I’ll see you there in line!

Incredible Bakery options in of course the deli with all of your German favorites from sandwiches to schnitzel. I highly recommend this place but understand lines will be long but it is worth the wait. Also go around the back side of the parking lot to visit the distillery. We enjoyed an afternoon today listening to the music they always have local entertainers. It is a must stop place!

I love this place! We do not live close, but we take a drive just to come here. If you try their Reuben, it will change your life!! I thought I loved Reuben’s before, but I had never had a “real” Reuben. Definitely a must try. The bakery is amazing! Everything is freshly made, beautiful and delicious! Definitely worth the drive. When you come, you have to try the Puff pastry lightly sweetened pastry stuffed with Bavarian cream, whipped cream and fresh strawberries! The lemon mango tart….nothing else to say! My husband always gets the chocolate mouse cake. This time we also got apple turnovers, apple tarts and peach tarts. My parents recently moved here and have not had them yet, so we got some to share. Service is always pleasant and you can sit inside, although it gets really tight when they get crowded, but they also have outdoor seating. Go ahead and drive on over, you won’t be disappointed!

Not a lot of space to sit inside, but there is outdoor seating. We were there on a hot summer day, so it was busy and hot out. We had lunch, bought bread to bring home, and we had pastries as well. The service was great, the breads, the food, and bakery items were all delicious! Highly recommended and a beautiful drive to get there too!
