A refreshing and lively taste of Japan right here in San Pedro – run by friendly Spanish and English speaking people. They use real wood charcoal like one should for Japanese yakitori; I especially go for the matcha tea in the morning overlooking the lake, the hearty curry/miso bowls, and cute dogs relaxing in the shop.

We sat at the bar overlooking the lake (gorgeous) and ordered a dashi cup and curry bowl (both without eggs) and some beef and chicken skewers. All were incredibly delicious. The homemade ginger ale tastes like you’re drinking a ginger snap cookie. We’ll definitely come back here before we leave.

DELICIOUS Japanese food. Teriyaki bowls were amazing and full of flavour. Homemade ginger ale was also great.
Would go back again for sure! Everything was reasonably priced too. Great view

The ONLY place I will eat out at in San Pedro now! The food is great and the atmosphere and lake view are also great! If you are a relatively picky eater like me (keto), he will make your meal as you like, without rice. The price is also great! My go to meal is: beef skewers and a teriyaki bowl without rice. And don’t miss the refreshing ginger drink!

The yakitori was decent but the view and atmosphere itself is definitely why you should go. The curry was a solid 2/5 compared to traditional curries but I also understand that we’re not in Japan, and that curries are not as prevalent here.

The place is a very simple and down-to-earth food hut by the lake. The food was very good and reasonably priced. It’s run by a friendly Japanese family and it has the family style kinda restaurant vibe. I absolutely love it.

This is exactly why I do not give Google reviews credit anymore. Very good reviews here but this tastes far away from authentic Japanese tastes. Just can not see why they mix Japanese curry with Thai curry. Why would they put in cumin spices ? Dried meats & too small portions.

Wonderful experience. Everything tasted beautiful, and was beautiful. Thank you Yakitóri de Cava for a special meal!
In addition to a great, hand-written menu, the menu states exactly the ingredients that will be used in your dish, and gives you the option to omit any of them.

Fresh good. Delicious and healthy. Owned and operated by a Japanese couple, very friendly and speaks some English too. The view of Lake Atitlan is amazing.
