Incredible fatty high quality beef. The sukiyaki set was immaculate. Short rib and fillet steak were probably my favorite cuts. Overall, some things were a bit raw for my liking, but if you’re into beef, this is THE place to go. And for ~$100, this seems like great value.
Service was fantastic. Good cadence of server coming by to fill up our drinks and cooking the next round of meat. Great clean modern vibes. Pretty quiet space. Japanese aesthetic.
Though I loved the meat, some sides or starches in between the rounds would have helped it not feel as heavy.

Came here tonight for an early dinner. The restaurant is clean and has a nice modern vibe. Once you enter, you are greeted politely by staff and we were seated immediately. We opted to do à la carte since we were not that hungry and wanted to choose some options not on the courses. Ordered the thick cut beef tongue, tripe, pork neck, kalbi, large intestine, and ox tail rice soup. We absolutely loved the beef tongue, it’s $38 for 8 pieces but it is incredibly tender and has an excellent mouthfeel. The ox tail rice soup was simple but full of beef flavor and very comforting. We enjoyed the other items as well but the kalbi was just OK it was not as tender as we had hoped. They had a yuzu gochujang with the beef tongue which was stellar and I loved that they offered wasabi with the pork neck. Service was good and attentive. Overall, an excellent Yakiniku place and will certainly be back!

Had an awesome meal here I took my best friend here for a birthday dinner, and we both got the Premium Wagyu Course. The quality of meats was excellent; my favorite cut was actually the beef tongue, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. I’d skip the cold noodles and instead opt for the eel rice as the third course
The service was also great! The staff were nice and attentive.
Overall, it was a wonderful yakiniku place for a special occasion ❤️

Such a great place! Absolutely outstanding beef tongue! The presentation alone is stunning, but the flavor is what really blew me away. Each slice was incredibly tender, perfectly marbled, and lightly seasoned so the natural richness of the beef tongue really shined. It had that melt-in-your-mouth texture with just the right amount of char and smokiness.
Can’t believe I didn’t know about this place before!

Came from LA for work and found it next to my hotel. Meat was noticeably higher quality, favorite was of course the Japanese wagyu and premium beef tongue.
Customer service was top notch. My server Yasue even helped cooked all the meat for me.
I would come back again.

I recently visited YAKINIKU TORAJI NYC and had a really pleasant dining experience. The restaurant is clean and stylish, with a relaxed atmosphere. Service was attentive but not intrusive — the staff were friendly and kept things running smoothly.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the beef tongue. It’s sliced to the perfect thickness — tender yet slightly chewy, with a rich aroma when grilled to a light char. Just a touch of salt brings out the natural flavor beautifully. Compared to the thinner cuts served at many BBQ spots, TORAJI’s thicker beef tongue has a great texture and juiciness that really stands out.

This place is a hidden gem. Located down a long hallway between Bayard and Elizabeth st, the elegance, design, and customer service is unmatched. Tried the beef tongue which was surprisingly delicious. Good drinks. A variety of options and a tasting mention. The readily accommodated our allergies and hosted us without a reservation. Toraji is fabulous.

Yakiniku Toraji An totally exceeded my expectations. Google labels it as a casual eatery, but the moment you walk in, it feels high-end — beautiful lighting, great music, and generous spacing between tables that gives you privacy. Perfect for date nights, business dinners, or gatherings with friends.
The food was outstanding. The thick-cut gyutan with lemon (Atsugiri Gyutan Shio Lemon) was the star — incredibly tender and bursting with flavor. We also ordered the tenderloin (Hire/Filet), Harami (outside skirt), long-cut Kalbi (Naga-Karubi), and a selection of Wagyu cuts. Every single piece was juicy, high-quality, and cooked perfectly on the grill. For this level of meat and overall experience, the prices are surprisingly reasonable.
Service was friendly and attentive, and the entire atmosphere feels thoughtfully designed. Absolutely recommend if you want top-tier Japanese BBQ with a polished, upscale vibe.

Tried a few items outside of their set menu. Tried their Okayu which is like a nice hug on a hot day. Also ordered tongue—great texture—and premium sirloin ju—beefy flavor paired perfectly with egg yolk and rice. Their wasabi is the best!! Their almond pudding is amazing!! Closer to a panda cotta—creamy and almondy.
All items are a delight. Good food and good drinks!
Their booths offer a little more privacy and the vibe is very chill. Staff are friendly as always and pleasant to interact with.
One of my favorite places to dine at.

Absolutely fantastic Japanese BBQ experience! The quality of the meat was outstanding—perfectly marbled, incredibly fresh, and full of flavor. The grill-at-your-table setup made the meal fun and interactive, and everything cooked beautifully. The sauces and sides complemented the dishes perfectly, especially the rice and pickled vegetables. The staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to explain how to grill everything just right. The atmosphere was warm and lively, making it a great spot for both casual dinners and special occasions. I can’t wait to come back! The beef tongue was especially delicious!
