This establishment appears to be one of the finest Thai restaurants in town. It is a new restaurant, having opened its doors just six months ago.

Regarding parking, there is paid street parking available. The staff is exceptionally generous and friendly, and the head chef even took the time to visit our table personally to gather feedback, demonstrating a warm and welcoming demeanor.

The cocktail bar receives a perfect score of 5/5. We sampled the house margarita and the Moscow mule, with the Moscow mule being a particular favorite.

The food is truly amazing. We sampled the curry puff and masaman sauce with bread as appetizers, and both were delightful. For our main courses, we ordered chicken cashew and pineapple fried rice with tofu. I thoroughly enjoyed both dishes, especially appreciating the balance of vegetables, rice, and tofu, as well as their presentation. The only minor drawback was that the tofu wasn’t fried to perfection. Despite this, I found the overall menu to be excellent.

In my opinion, this is certainly one of the top Thai restaurants in the area.

Tom yum soup with shrimp is the best one I tried in US. The flavor is really Thai.
Green Curry is also sooo good I like the eggplant and bamboo inside.
Basil Ground pork is a bit salty and sweet for my taste. But still in a good way.
Yak Yai Thai restaurant you can definitely give it a try.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had! My gf’s first time trying Thai and was blown away. The Jerk Beef appetizer, Green Curry w/ chicken, and spicy Thai chicken w/ fried rice were all 10/10. The staff and the owner seem like genuinely good people. Will definitely be back and wishing this establishment continued success.

This place is a quiet, comfortable, little out of the way place for some great traditional Thai cuisine. Their staff are very friendly and polite. Bailey really made my night, made sure my drink was to taste and the food as well. I ordered the Pad Thai with Pork, Thai hot and a Mule to drink. He even offered me a spice tray to really up the heat. Tasted amazing!

We stopped in here Wednesday 10/15 and we were absolutely blown away at how delicious it was. Large portions, wonderful service, and all around perfect experience! Troy and Andrew were both so helpful! Suggested the Chinese sausage fried rice and it didnt disappoint! Troy also shared some awesome places to check out while we were in town. Overall 10/10 highly recommend! Green curry was fire!!

Happen to be passing through Richmond on a road trip and we’re so glad we stopped at Yak Yai Thai Restaurant. We ordered family style to try lots of dishes. My favorites included the fried tofu, the red curry (with chicken), the basil fried rice (chicken), and all the desserts but especially the mango sticky rice (we actually took two orders to go!). Everyone liked everything and each dish was someone’s favorite of the meal.

Cute restaurant, a little small so make sure you get a reservation but we were able to easily get one for nine somewhat last minute. Super friendly staff, it’s a family business and they’re all so nice and personable. Parking on the street is possible but hard to find. Thankfully there are plenty of pay to park lots nearby.

Awesome dinner in a great spot with super friendly people. Loved it and wished I lived closer! Thanks for a great meal!

Hidden gem on Franklin St in Richmond VA. Some of the best authentic Thai food in the city. The curries are warming and aromatic and the fried rice dishes are so flavorful.

I ordered the papaya salad, the esan sausage, and the basil ground pork with a fried egg on top for lunch. The service was great and the food was delicious. The food tasted very authentic and was prepared with fresh ingredients. I got there 30 minutes after opening and it was pretty quiet. It was a bit pricey but worth every penny.
