Yahman’s Authentic Jamaican Jerk Shack is the original first jamaican restaurant in Key West, cooking authentic fresh Jamaican cuisine since 2015 starting in a food truck in Stock Island on Front Street. Later on we moved on to Chevron Gas station for a couple months and in 2020 we reopened at 6500 Maloney ave lot 95, Stock Island. Yahman’s Authentic Jamaican Jerk Shack gives you the full island experience at a fraction of the cost. Plus, the food is absolutely amazing!!! If you are in the mood for Jerk, Curry, Stew, Burgers, and Seafood with all the trimming (Rice and beans, cabbage, and plantain) and don’t forget about their homemade bread pudding and drinks. Also they provide Catering Services and Sweetest Knights variety of different types of fudges. The aroma alone will draw you like a moth to a flame consumed by the desire to taste everything on their menu.

I was in the Keys for business and ordered the jerk chicken dinner from Yahman’s Authentic Jamaican because of the ratings online. Boy was I disappointed! The food was delivered OLD! Like last week old…chicken was dried to the bone! Rice overcooked and cabbage undercooked. Wasted $26 including tax, tip and delivery fee.

The place is small. It’s not really a spot for dine in eating. The fried fish was really good and made right there on the spot. My daughter loved their BBQ ribs. The jerk chicken was ok but not what I was used to having.

The jerk chicken was good, not much of the jerk flavoring I was expecting but it was edible. It was also the first time I had a steam cabbage mix absolutely delicious food!! The sorrel was magnificent! The ginger in it helped rid the congestion I had. Im so glad I had the pleasure in supporting this business. I will be back to try other items.

This is hands down one of the best Jamaican cuisines I have been to. I came here with my friends and I had the stewed chicken. It tasted so so yummy. I wish I had fried plantains as well but the potatoes weren’t a bad substitute. The ginger drink was legit!!! and my friends said “this is the drink that will cure the rona”. We arrived shortly before closing and they didn’t hurry us out. They even gave us fresh coconut water to drink directly from a recently harvested coconut :). The music ambience was fabulous throughout our dinning. The pricing of their food was great & we had an amazing experience. Will recommend this place to anyone in the Key West area.

Jamaican food is my favorite, so my standards may be high. But this was… Fine. I didn’t taste any jerk seasoning/flavor on the jerk chicken, just a lot of char flavor. And the ribs were good, but again, no strong flavors/spices. Just normal food. When expecting those super flavorful Jamaican spices & seasonings, I was fairly disappointed when what I got was just standard, but still good, grilled meat flavor.

The food was delicious and the owners are very hospitable. I really enjoyed the atmosphere while I was dining there. The ginger beer that they serve there was great as well. If you are hesitant, they will give you free samples of the food to help you decide. Will definitely make another trip while I’m in the keys.

Absolutely incredible food! This is the real deal. Makes Donna’s and Golden Crust look like dog food. Some of the best Jamaican food I’ve ever had, hands down. Just fantastic.
