YAFA is a family owned restaurant owned by Palestinian immigrants that are transforming Mediterranean fare by combining it with a western twist to bring a little taste of home to the Midwest. YAFA Cafe offers Mediterranean-inspired fare that’s simultaneously tasty and heart-healthy. Not only are we a good choice for healthy fresh Mediterranean food, we also serve our classic Kabobs, Shawarma, creamy Hummus, and Falafel. We pride ourselves in offering numerous vegetarian and vegan options as well, anywhere from salads to combo platters. Don’t forget to try our delicious desserts like the assorted baklava!

I’ve tried a ton of Mediterranean spots, and this is easily one of the best. The food was incredible and the menu has something for everyone even the kids!
We came in with a huge group of 10+ people, and the service was top-notch. They gave us great recommendations and kept checking in to make sure we had everything we needed.
Pro-tips:
* Book ahead: The place is a bit small and gets crowded fast, so definitely plan your visit.
* Parking: No stress here plenty of space out front.
Already planning my next trip back to try more of the menu. Don’t skip this one.

Best Mediterranean in the State! Hummus was delicious, chicken shawarma plate was huge and amazing, chicken curry was warm and comforting. I can’t believe this is my first time here, it won’t be my last.

Falafel was great. Hummus was a little too acidic for my taste. The gyro meat on the yafa combo platter is pretty good, but the normal gyro platter’s meat had a dry leathery texture. Not sure if we had some kind of miscommunication in placing the order and accidentally got some other kind of gyro? Restaurant was very busy, and we had to follow up multiple times to get water refills, but very friendly and welcoming staff.

A very cozy little restaurant with very tasty cuisine. I brought some friends from Shanghai to introduce them to some Mediterranean cuisine. They loved this place like I do. I really love the fresh hummus with hot, fresh pita bread. One of my favorites is the chicken kebab. So flavorful!! The restaurant is owned and ran by a family. They are nice. It feels like you are dining at a friends house.

My son brought me here this past Saturday (20 Sept 25) for my birthday. I didn’t expect what I saw… and REALLY didn’t expect what I tasted! OMG AMAZING TIMES 100!!!!! The food was incredible! I felt AWFUL because I didn’t eat all of my food… my stomach was screaming at me to stop eating but it was SO dang good!!!!!

We loved it and not just the food, which was wonderful, but the whole atmosphere, which was truly international and welcoming. The restaurant is small by American standards but perfectly cozy and full of community and connection.
We visited on last Friday evening which found them a tad busier than usual with the day’s fasting complete. Even so, our meals were delivered quickly and were so very good.

We drove my aunt into town and stopped by here for lunch, and from the moment we walked in, the two ladies at the front made us feel genuinely welcomed. Their friendliness and hospitality set the tone for the entire visit.
The food was beyond incredible. The beef and lamb shawarma was amazing, the falafel were absolute perfection crispy, flavorful, almost too good and the tahini was spot-on. We also tried the baklava, which was so excellent we took more to go.
We live about three hours away, but we will definitely be back in Overland Park just to visit Yafa again. Truly the best of the best, with some of the greatest people you’ll ever meet and the best food you could ever dream of.

Loved everything about our dinner! We had the falafel, chicken combo plate and beef gyro plate. Everything was so flavorful with bright citrus and delicious spices. The combo had the best spanakopita that I have ever tasted! The lentil soup and salad were also wonderful. The husband and I both took home leftovers from the generous portions.

Yafa is a hidden gem of authentic and out standing Mediterranean food. The entire experience is a delight. This is hands down the best cuisine I have had in the KC area.
The owner is super courteous and helpful.

This is a family restaurant. We were waited upon by the mother and daughter. Presumably the father is the chef.
Service was friendly, helpful and prompt.
The food was immaculately prepared and plated.
I got the sample platter because I am new to much of the food offered here. My daughter ordered a wrap sandwich. We both had generous Greek salads with our meal. Everything was tasty. We enjoyed the meals and the change of pace.
