Ok, I don’t usually do reviews, but today, I’ll fill you guys in on what happened. I went to the counter to purchase a mashed potato bowl. I hand the clerk a $20 bill. That’s cool. She marks the $20 to see if it’s real; again, that’s fine. As I proceed to move to the left & wait on my food, another guy walks up. He’s white. He orders his food, which comes up to $15 and some change. She does not mark his $20 bill and immediately cashes him out & gives him change. Be aware of Implicit Bias & microaggressions. It may not seem like a big deal but, this is a big problem. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble so descriptions will be not disclosed. Just be careful at this location.

Definitely not the YaYa’s business we went to 20 years ago downstate. We decided to stop here to enjoy what we remembered. However, no chicken was being grilled, and the pieces we got were tough and lukewarm. The wing was burnt to ashes. The salad was just bagged iceberg, and they had a sign that said if you wanted cucumbers or tomatoes or onions, it was $.50 more PER item! The salad dressing tasted like “bottled store” bought dressing; not like it used to be in Royal Oak and Sterling Heights locations years ago. The only part that tasted good were the baked beans and the pita bread with the honey butter. But even the honey butter didn’t taste as honey sweet as it used to years ago.
We didn’t feel welcomed because when we walked in all the chairs were tipped up on the tables, and they only left three booths open to choose from to sit in. Making it feel like it was about to close when it wasn’t. Disappointed for sure.

Their food is excellent and delicious . The employees really take the time to make sure your order is made perfectly and cooked properly. We love coming here to get the flame broiled chicken that they are known for. It is so good and you won’t be disappointed. The staff is very professional, kind and helpful . Keep up the great work, team YaYa’s. Thank you for the great food every time.

The door said they closed at 8pm. We went in at 6:30pm yesterday and were treated like we were a bother to the staff for ordering food. All of the chairs and tables were up, so we had to eat in the car. Staff was rude, and the chicken was dry and not appetizing. Mac and cheese was cold. Will not be returning

All I’m saying is if I’m paying $25 for two chicken Caesar salads, I don’t care how good it looks, when you say extra dressing and they just give you another small one, and you got more croutons than chicken on your salad, that’s a problem. Will I be back, maybe maybe not this location, because their salads are fire! That’s why I don’t mind paying the price but if I’m going to pay this price at least give me a big ramekin of Caesar. Great customer service

I’m giving them 2 stars ONLY because they gave the extra piece of chicken.
We ordered a 4 piece dark meal, with veggies and rice. Also, added 3 extra pita breads and butter to our to go order.
When we got home, we were in disbelief at how tiny the chicken was! They put an extra leg in, I assume to make up for the disappointment of what we had.
I am sad to say, I will NEVER return here again. The chicken was dried out but looked good on the outside. How?
The pita bread was ok, hard but could salvage the inside. The sides were the best part.
In the 90’s and early 00’s YaYa’s was fantastic at this location. I’d love stopping in for a meal and the homemade honey butter and soft pita bread, but those days are long gone.
I wish we could keep these companies going, instead of seeing empty buildings but I have a feeling if this is the product they are putting out, it won’t be long before their doors are closed as well.

Well I can tell there has been some changes to the food over the years and none are for the better. Maybe to save on cost although the prices have gone up too!
1. Chicken> Looked reddish inside and Tasted better a few years ago and the skin had much more flavor.
2. Mashed potatoes and gravy> small portion of potatoes and the gravy tasted completely different (not as good).
3. Butter> I know you changed this a long time ago but I still miss the original recipe you made in house and put in a little cup.
I am referring most of my comparison to the location you had in Garden city Mi many years ago.
Don’t get me wrong!
I will still come back whenever I’m in the area but the craving will never be the same as it was so long ago. 🙁

I’ve always LOVED me some Yayas but the food & service has went bad.
I ordered a 4pc mean dark
The cashier a guy rung my food up and then using the same GLOVES stepped over and grabbed my chicken AND salad with those sane gloves, DISGUSTING..I declined it and a nice young gurl remade it,and then I got home and the chicken has no seasoning and tasted warmed up/old….
Soooooo disappointed!!
I’ve been eating Yayas for years..
I’m done, with this pierson rd one in Flint anyway.

Always clean, service is near instant and I mean that, it’s the only real fast food place around! The gentleman chef in the back with the Goatee is a goat and always has the chicken perfectly juicy! Ladies at the counter are amazing at taking orders and communicating with their team. My favorite YaYa’s location!

For a salad over $10 why do we not longer get the big ranch in the packet? We now get a tiny condiment cup of ranch? How cheap!!! Also not even a slice of pita bread? For the price you may as well go get a grilled salad from the popular diner! At least you get your money’s worth. Yaya’s has gotten greedy.
