I was in Sunnyvale for the Super Bowl working at the stadium nearby, and I ended up going to Xiang Xiang Noodle three times in one week, that should tell you everything you need to know.

The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel like a regular right away. The noodles are clearly homemade, with that perfect chewy texture, and the Sichuan dishes are the real deal. bold, authentic, and properly spicy. The dan dan noodles were a standout, and the salt and pepper eggplant was addictive.

On top of all that, the portions are generous and the prices are more than fair. If you’re anywhere near Sunnyvale and craving legit Sichuan noodles, this spot is a must. Easy 5 stars.

service was kind of on the meh side — the owner insisted on us trying the cucumber salad (we had no thoughts of ordering it at first and so we didn’t ask for it) and told us we didn’t have to pay if it wasn’t good, but i mean how could we not pay if it was brought out to our table? it was pretty tasty but nothing too special. i don’t really like that they essentially somewhat forced us to try the cucumber salad, i’m sure they knew beforehand that 99% of the time people are gonna be like “yeah it’s good!”. anyway the fried eggplant was really delicious and perfectly cripsy and the noodles were a bit too thick for our liking but the flavor was decent. the prices are quite high though, and it’s not like the portions are that big, so perhaps re think before you come here!

If you are ever looking for a restaurant that feels like home cooking but with a punch this is it.

All the spicy dishes are aromatic spicy, and has that mala kicked to it.

Non-spicy dishes are also perfect not too salty. They have the perfect amount of chew and freshness and all of their soup and noodle dishes.

I had an amazing experience eating both the Salt Pepper Eggplant and Sichuan Dandan Noodles at this restaurant. The food came super quick and was super flavorful. The owners were lovely and treated me to a handstand to entertain me. I had a great time!

Awesome food, the best dan dan noodles I ever had, even better any of the ones I had in China. Highly recommend the egg plant dish as well. The other dishes were also pretty, so much so that we didn’t have the chance to take photos of them, we were just busy eating away.

The Sichuan Dan Dan noodles are honestly the best I’ve had in a while. The noodles themselves are cooked perfectly. The owners are also so sweet!! You can tell how much they love their food

TL;DR – Salt and Pepper Eggplant. Get it and take the bet.

A friend found this spot through social media, and we decide to give it a shot. When we arrived, the place was quiet with plenty of seating and a super convenient parking lot. It’s run by a Chinese man and woman who take turns greeting, cooking, and serving, giving a very mom-and-pop vibe in the best way.

As we placed our orders, the owner confidently recommended the Salt and Pepper Eggplant – saying that if we didn’t enjoy it, he would comp the item. We couldn’t resist a fun bet, and so we shook hands on the deal.

We lost that bet, but we felt like winners. The eggplant was crisp, flavorful, and perfectly fried without being too greasy. The chopped sautéed jalapeños added just the right kick. That’s important, because we quickly found out how much spicier they can go here with the other eats. I loved it, but my friend less so. If you’re spice sensitive, I would err on the side of mild.

Beyond the eggplant, we tried a range of noodle dishes, including the dan dan, knife-shaved, and sautéed oil noodles. Most were solid, but the eggplant stole the show.

One last thing: when you go up to pay, ask about the photo next to the register. You might hear a funny story or two.

I walk in, greeted enthusiastically by one of the two workers, a nice lady, not fancy inside but cosy, and genuine. Huge portions for not much, with an extensive menu. Also really, really good. Ate too fast to take a pic, but let the empty plates speak for themselves:

Feels like home!

We ordered

– dan dan noodle
– the egg fried toona sinensis
– stir fried shradde cabbage
– seasoned beef shank
– pork spareribs with house special sauce

We really like the Dan Dan noodle, cabbage and egg fried; the appetizer beef shank and spareribs taste good too they rank below the other three

Horrible service front the old woman. She would attend to the other table of 9 people while we only had four people. There were only us and the other party of 9. I guess the food bill is higher so her tip is higher.
Just Food was decent.
